Grand Western Tour Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting summer experience? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of teens while visiting the Grand Canyon, Space Needle, Pike’s Peak and Disneyland? We are looking for enthusiastic, high energy, responsible individuals to serve as counselors and positive role models on our nationwide bus tour for 14-16 year-old students. Applicants must be at least 22 years old and have prior experience working with young people.

Requirements:
Interview
Experience working with young people
Available June 16- July 20
Swimmer
Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certification

Preferred:
Travel Experience
Camp Experience
Outdoor Experience (i.e. hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, team building)
Public Speaking Experience

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR WESTERN TOUR STAFF
Smoking and/or Vaping are not permitted on the Tour.*

As a staff member, you will be giving up a great deal of privacy and comfort, working long and demanding hours, adhering to Tour rules and policies which may be limiting (curfews, time off, lack of privacy, limited cell phone use, no smoking or vaping, no drinking alcohol, etc.)*

I understand that, if employed, I will be an at-will employee, meaning that employment may be terminated at any time for any reason, and that any agreement to the contrary must be in writing and signed by the director of the Tour. I also understand that untrue, misleading, or omitted information herein may result in dismissal, regardless of the time of discovery by the Tour. I authorize investigation of all statements herein and release the tour and all others from liability in connection with same. Any dispute between you and the Tour will be governed by North Carolina law and you agree and consent to Guilford County, North Carolina as the sole and exclusive jurisdiction for any legal proceeding.*

I assume the responsibility as a Counselor for Tour participants for the duration of the Tour. I release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless the Tour and its affiliates. In case of injury to myself, I hereby waive all claims against the Tour and its affiliates. I further release and waive any potential future claims against the Tour and its affiliates, employees, and staff for any property damage and/or personal injury arising out of any activity connected with the Tour or arising out of the negligence of any person or entity I come in contact with during the Tour.*

I expressly authorize the Tour to perform background checks upon me, which may include, but are not limited to, criminal background checks, driver’s license validation and sex offender listings, and which will require me to provide my driver’s license number and other information as requested.*

Photographs, Likenesses, Images and Recordings:
I consent to the Tour taking photographs and/or making video or audio recordings of me without limitation and to use such photographs, videotapes or audiotapes and my name, likeness and voice and/or any related stories (“Likeness”) in connection with any of the work, programs, projects, fundraising or other endeavors of the Tour in any and all media, including without limitation, electronic or digital media, whether known or unknown at this time, forever worldwide and without restriction, without consideration or compensation of any kind. I release, discharge and hold harmless the Tour and its affiliates, including, without limitation, its officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and contractors from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of my Likeness, including slander, libel, invasion of privacy or publicity, and/or copyright infringement . This Release applies to me and my heirs, legal representatives and assigns and I do release, discharge and hold harmless the Tour from any claim or demand whatsoever arising out of or in connection with such use.*
