• Computer Science Scholarship

  • What is it? A $1,000 a year ($4,000 total) competitive scholarship awarded to Freshmen or Transfers entering West Virginia Wesleyan College and majoring in Computer Science or Computer Information Science in Fall of 2021. The award will be offered to up to five students for Fall 2021.

    Details about the award: The Computer Science Scholarship cannot be combined with special talent awards in Athletics, Creative and Performing Arts, Community Service (Service Scholars), e-sports, or a tuition exchange or tuition waiver. However, the awards are designed to be combined with the Wesleyan Academic Awards (Presidential, Dean’s, WVWC Merit), WV Promise Scholarship, and other WVWC and outside grants and scholarships.  

    Who can Apply? Any accepted Freshman or Transfer Student for Fall 2021 who intends to major in Computer Science or Computer Information Science.

    How do I apply? Priority deadline for application is March 1, 2021.  Additional applications will be considered thereafter.   Students must complete the form and essay here:

  • How will the award be chosen and when would I be notified? The awards will be chosen by a committee of WVWC Faculty and Staff in review of academic qualifications and essays and support materials.   Successful candidates will be informed of the award beginning on March 1, 2021 and on a rolling basis thereafter. 

    How do I keep the award for four years? Successful candidates must stay in good standing in the Honors Program; complete one Honors class per year, two cultural events, and submit ePortfolio update at the end of the year
