  • Tournament Rules


    TEAM/MATCH - The team named first in the fixture are the nominated home team. If both teams have similar kit colour the away team must change their shirt colour or wear bibs. All games will be played in accordance with the FA’s ruling on game time, with a two minute drinks break in between.
    FOOTBALL KITS - All players must wear football shirts, shorts, socks and shin pads (no pads, no play).
    OFFSIDE - There is no ‘OFFSIDE’.
    FREE KICKS - All free kicks will be direct with the defending players at least 2 metres away from the ball.
    FOOT WEAR - Football boots must be worn, no trainers.
    SLIDE TACKLES - SLIDE TACKLES are forbidden – penalized by a direct free kick.
    PENALTY AREA - All players may enter the ‘box’ during play.
    SUBSTITUTIONS - Rolling substitutions are permitted at any point during the game.
    ELIGIBILITY - Once a player is registered with a team he or she cannot play in any other team in that age group.
    AGE GROUP – You must have available league registration squad list printed off of Whole Game System from season 2019/20 – failure to do so will result in your team being disqualified from the tournament.
    REGISTRATION – All teams must report to signing in tent prior to tournament starting. Once players registration squad lists have been checked and verified they will be issued with a wristband. Players that have no registration cards will not be allowed to play. Wristbands will then be checked by an official on the pitch before kickoff. Any teams not adhering to these rules will be disqualified.
    GROUP – Winners of the groups will be decided by points. If points are equal then winners will be decided by Goals Scored

    Please ensure your FULL teams arrive 45 minutes prior to Tournament KO


    Loss of Wrist band must be reported to a Tournament Official immediately

    Players must NOT remove band at any time until completion of Tournament

     

    THIS TOURNAMENT IS FOR THE CURRENT SEASONS AGE GROUPS


    Please note the following age specific rules:


    Under 7s, – goal kicks, corner kicks, throw ins and goalkeeper drop kicks will be taken in the normal way with players retreating to the half way line for goal kicks.  


    Under 8s, – goal kicks, corner kicks, throw ins and goalkeeper drop kicks will be taken in the normal way with players retreating to the half way line for goal kicks.  


    Under 9s, – goal kicks, corner kicks, throw ins and goalkeeper drop kicks will be taken in the normal way with players retreating to the half way line for goal kicks.


    Under 10s, – goal kicks, corner kicks, throw ins and goalkeeper drop kicks will be taken in the normal way, players do not need to retreat to the half way line for goal kicks.

     

    Referees


    A referee will be appointed to officiate in each game.  He or she will have the same powers and duties laid out in the laws of the game.  The referee’s interpretation of the rules is final.

     FOR PARENTS AND SPECTATORS


    This Tournament is supporting the FA’s Respect Programme to ensure football can be enjoyed by everyone in a safe and positive environment.

    We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game. You have a great influence on a child’s enjoyment & success in football.

     

    Play your part and observe The FA’s Respect Code of Conduct for Parents, Guardians and Spectators at all times.

     

    Parents will:

    Remain outside the field of play and behind the Designated Spectators area (where provided).
    Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour.
    Always respect the match officials’ decisions.
    Applaud effort and good play as well as success in a game.


    In addition, when attending Youth games Parents will:

    Remember that children play for fun.
    Let the Coaches do their job, do not confuse the players by telling them what to do.
    Encourage the players to Respect the opposition and match officials.
    Never criticise a player for making a mistake – matches are for learning too.

     

    CODE OF CONDUCT

     FOR YOUTH PLAYERS


    This Club is supporting the FA’s Respect Programme to ensure football can be enjoyed by everyone in a safe and positive environment.

    You, the Players are the most important people in the Sport, playing for the team, and for the team to win, is the most fundamental part of the game.

     

    As a Player, you have a big part to play, that’s why The FA and this Club are asking every player to follow a Respect Code of Conduct.

     


    Players Will :

    Always do my best, make every effort to develop my own sporting abilities.
    Play fairly,- I won’t cheat , complain or waste time.
    Set a positive example for others.
    Always have regard for the best interests of the game.
    Never be rude to my team-mates, the opposition, the referee, spectators or my own manager or coach.
    Never use inappropriate language.
    Do what the Referee tells me, accept his decisions.
    Show respect towards all Match Officials.
    Shake hands with the other team, and with the Referee at the end of the game.
    Listen to my Team Manager or Coach and respect what he/she says.
    Show due respect towards the Team Officials of the Opposition.
    Respect the interest of the Spectators.

      I understand that if I do not follow the Code, action may be taken.

  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


    No refunds will be made for teams who cancel, fail to turn up or are disqualified.


    A representative from each team must report to the registration tent at least 45 minutes prior to kick off with a completed registration form (see below) and cards.


    Tournament organizers cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage to teams’ equipment or belongings.


    Organizers cannot be held liable for any injuries sustained to players or spectators.


    By entering a team into this tournament you are agreeing to images and pictures of your team appearing in various media outlets.


    Organizers of the Medway Cup can amend the rules of the tournament as a result of weather conditions and number of teams participating.  A finalized set of rules will be available on the day.


    All players are subject to the discipline process of the Kent County Football Association and are advised to consider their own private insurance to cover claims arising from their own injury or that of another player.


    Teams are expected to take rubbish with them or dispose of it in an appropriate manner at the ground.


    Smoking and drinking alcohol are not allowed anywhere near the pitches. 

     

     Payment Can be made by bank transfer and all details will be sent via email upon reciept of your registration form.


    Please reference payment your team name and age group.


      


    Further information will be sent by email nearer the tournament date.


    Any team found to be fielding an illegible players WILL BE disqualified. 

     

    Each team will be charged an entry fee to the competition of £50.00.

     

    Completion of this form does not guarantee entry, once entry is confirmed you will be sent a separate link to make your payment.
