- Tuition is based on a September-June commitment and is divided into 10 payments.
- The first payment of $180 is a nonrefundable deposit to hold your spot in the class, then there are 9 monthly payments billed on the 1st of each month, starting September 1st.
- If a student joins partway through the school year, tuition will be prorated to reflect the month they begin attending classes.
- The deposit is not transferable at any time.
- There will be a 5% late fee for payments made after the 5th of the month.

- If the teachers and program directors decide the program is not a good fit for your child, we will email you within 30 days from the start date and your child will be withdrawn from the program. We will refund your tuition paid less the non-refundable $180 deposit and less the prorated days.
Covid19 Cancellation Policy
- Heartwood Nature Programs is a non-profit organization that runs on slim financial margins in the best of times. We cannot offer refunds for in-person classes that get cancelled due to a COVID19 illness or exposure and continue to pay our staff. Our teachers are the heart and soul of our program. We believe they deserve to have a predictable, dependable paycheck and we thank you for helping make that happen.
- If in-person classes are cancelled for any reason related to a confirmed COVID19 exposure or illness, we will move classes to distance learning. The on-line portion will be approximately 30 minutes. It will be modelled on a typical daily circle time and may include activities such as songs, yoga, storytime, meditation and sharing. The teacher will also email the class activities children can do at home.
Withdrawal and Refund
- To withdraw from the program or for a change in enrollment (such as reducing the number of days attending):
- Four full class weeks of notice is required, excluding holiday/break weeks.
- March 1st is the last day a participant may give us their 30 days notice to withdraw from the school year programs or reduce enrollment and receive a refund.
- If we find it necessary to cancel classes for any length of time due to inclement weather, unsafe conditions, or circumstances out of our control, we are unable to offer refunds.
Medical Reason for Cancellation
- We understand that medical issues may arise unexpectedly and at any time. Please email us as soon as possible to inform us of your need to cancel, and submit a written excuse from your child's physician. We will make our best effort to transfer your camper into another comparable program within the same year. If we are unable to transfer your camper, tuition will be fully refundable, minus the deposit.
- We are unable to offer make-up days.
Expectations and Dismissal
- Heartwood is committed to maintaining a safe environment that allows children the freedom to play, learn, explore, and create.
- If we believe a child is unable to adhere to our rules and safety guidelines , they will be denied admission.
- If a child exhibits behavior that is unsafe or interferes with the rights of others, they will be dismissed from the program.
- Heartwood reserves the right at its sole discretion to refuse an application or dismiss a child from the program.
- No refund will be given if a child is dismissed from the program under these circumstances.
