  • Home Environment Videos (MUST SEND)

The final piece of information that Lisa will need is a visual layout of your home so she can see the environment your cat(s) are living in, in relation to all the cat resources. Thus, please send Lisa via text to 702.292.4950, or via Google Photos/Videos to AllAboutPurrs@icloud.com short videos of you walking through your home SLOWLY panning around showing all the important cat resources (e.g., feeding and water stations, litter boxes, cat trees/towers, scratching posts/scratchers, window seats, favorite beds or sleeping spots, etc.) If Litterbox Avoidance is the issue, then point out in the videos the locations where kitty is urinating / defecating outside the box.

PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE OR CLEAN UP before taking the videos. It is best if Lisa views the environment exactly how the cat(s) are currently living.

If the behavior issue is related to intercat conflict or some sort of aggression, then please ALSO send any video that you have ALREADY accumulated of this behavior. However, DO NOT INSTIGATE ANY INTERACTIONS BETWEEN CATS OR HUMANS that are in conflict to make a video for Lisa.

IMPORTANT: Lisa will not respond to set up a phone call until she has received the video(s). This is an important part of the process.

  • Proof of Recent Adoption

To qualify for the FREE Cat Behavior Consultation Services under the Adoption Success Program, please provide a copy of the adoption agreement for one of the cats involved in the behavior issue. The copy can be sent via text to 702.292.4950 or email to allaboutpurrs@icloud.com.

  • Terms of Service and Waiver for Cat Behavior Assessment

Completion of this Feline Behavior History Form is required before All About Purrs / Lisa Emrich can evaluate your cat(s). The information you provide on this form and during the appointment is considered confidential. By completing and submitting this Feline Behavior History Form, you give permission for All About Purrs / Lisa Emrich to evaluate, assess and formulate a behavior modification plan, and to work with you, your family members (if applicable) and your cats.

If you have had any behavioral evaluations or physical / laboratory exams done elsewhere, it would be helpful if Lisa had a copy before your appointment (first phone call). Please email to AllAboutPurrs@icloud.com.

Most behavior problems often occur because a cat's environmental needs have not been fully met, according to American Association of Feline Practitioners. Thus, you will be asked to provide videos and/or photos of your cat(s), their interactions within the home and of their environment (as noted above). Lisa requests these because it is the best way to evaluate initial concerns and assess progress within the context of everyday life.

    The videos/pictures should:
    • Show the behavior(s) about which you are concerned, except for any injurious behavior
    • Give a brief tour of the cat’s environment (home/catio/patio/yard) as appropriate
    • Show all other relevant facets of the cat’s life (e.g., where your cat sleeps, sits, eats, drinks, walks, plays, interacts with other animals, etc.)

If aggression with injury is one of the complaints, please do NOT provide a video of the cat biting someone, and do NOT put the cat(s) in a situation where any aggression may be provoked. If aggression is a concern, other behaviors will be indicative of it.

All In-home Behavior Assessments include 3 months of follow-up support via text and phone. The Behavior Phone Consult includes 1 month of follow-up support.

The evaluation, assessment, and recommendations do not represent a guarantee of successful behavior modification. All cats are unique, just like humans, with varied life experience, genetics and backgrounds. Few behavioral problems are truly cured, and responsible environment management is a factor for every cat. Long-term litterbox avoidance or spraying/marking behavior will be very difficult to correct.

WAIVER, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND AGREEMENT TO HOLD HARMLESS

I, the behavior client and primary caregiver, understand that the process of behavior change is not without risk to myself, or members of my family, because animals may be the cause of injury even when handled with the greatest amount of care.

I hereby waive and release Lisa Emrich and All About Purrs, it’s employees, owners and agents from any and all liability of any nature for injury or damage which I, my property or my pet(s) may suffer, including specifically, but without limitation, any injury or damage resulting from the action of any pet, and I expressly assume the risk of any such damage or injury while attending or thereafter any behavioral sessions of Lisa Emrich and All About Purrs on my property, or while on the property or the surrounding area or via phone, text or email thereto.

In consideration of and as inducement to the acceptance of my application for a behavioral appointment, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lisa Emrich and All About Purrs, its employees, owners and agents from any and all claims, or claims by any member of my family or any other person accompanying me to any behavior phone consult, in-home session, follow-up appointment or support of Lisa Emrich and All About Purrs via phone, text, email, my property, or while on the grounds or surrounding area thereto as a result of any action by any pet, including my own.
