About our Program

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary! Without the help of people like you, we would not be able to fulfill our mission of Rescue, Sanctuary, and Education for so many incredible animals!

As you might imagine, there are a number of tasks required every single day to care for our 60+ rescues, so we'd love to hear more about your specific areas of interest in the box listed below.

But before we get started, there are a few things to note:

1. There is no singular way to volunteer. We understand that people have different schedules and availability, and we don't want a busy schedule to prevent you from volunteering. As such, we are open to a variety of time commitments ranging from a sigular day of work to more routine weekly schedules throught the year! We welcome individuals or groups wishing to help us with our mission!
   
   
2. We welcome a variety of skill sets. While our primary mission revolves around animal care, that is actually a small percentage of what we spend each day doing. In fact, most of our time goes to preparing food for the rescues, and maintaining our facility. So never assume that your specific knowledge or skill set isn't valuable to us, and let us know where your interests lie! 
   
   
3. Animal care work is not guaranteed. As previously mentioned, only 2-3 hours of each day is dedicated to working directly with the animals, and we have a whole team of staff and interns to take on these responsibilities. As such, volunteers should not expect to work with the animals directly, but can look foward to assisting with their care in indirect ways, such as food preparation, enclosure maintenance, enrichment distribution, etc. This doesn't mean that volunteers will NEVER get to meet the rescues, but people should not expect to work with them routinely, unless you plan to commit a significant amount of time with us in order to be properly trained. 
   
   
4. Under the age of 16 will require a parent/guardian to be present. This is simply to ensure that our younger volunteers have appropriate supervision to guarantee safety at all times.

Liability Release Waiver

By entering my name below, I certify that I understand that I am a temporary volunteer at Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary (WSWS). I agree to do nothing detrimental to other volunteers, staff members, animals, or property. I also agree to abide by all rules as specified by WSWS staff. I agree that if my conduct is deemed detrimental that I will leave the premises, if so asked.

I understand and agree that I am fully responsible for my actions while at WSWS. I fully understand that I am responsible for the actions caused by myself or those under my supervision, and will be solely liable for any injuries and/or damages while at WSWS.

I am in total agreement with the above and will do everything in my power to abide by said rules. I agree to hold harmless WSWS, its staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers for injury or damages that may occur to me, my personal property, and/or vehicle while on the premises of Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary.

I also understand that if I work with, touch, or move any hand tools, power tools, gardening tools or any other construction related equipment belonging to WSWS that I agree to hold harmless WSWS, its staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers for any injury or damages that may occur to me, any children in my care, my personal property and/or vehicle while working on the premises of Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary.

Working with tools is inherently dangerous and requires knowledge and skill in order to be used safely. Therefore, I certify that if I pick up any tool with the intention of using or moving it that I either possess the skill to use it and/or the knowledge to move it, and that I am solely responsible for any potential harm that may occur to me or others by using or holding that tool.

Photo and Video Release

I hereby grant permission to Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and their agents or employees to use video, sound recordings, and photographs taken of myself, and/or my children at any time for use in productions(s) or publications such as: video, film, television, newsletters, websites, social media, electronic form or media; and to offer them for use or distribution in other productions or publications, electronic or otherwise, without notifying me. I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve the finished photographs, video, and printed or electronic matter that may be used in conjunction with them now or in the future, whether that is known to me or unknown.
