Attendance Policy
Attendance is critical for success and educational growth of the student. Please make sure your tutoring dates work for you at the beginning of each month. It is a commitment on your behalf as ours. If you have a vacation coming up, please just let your tutor know in advance.
Sessions are standing sessions. The above tutoring dates and times are determined between you and your tutor. This time is blocked off solely for the student. If you would like to change your arranged session time, please discuss and arrange that with your tutor. We hope for a minimum of 8 sessions every month, for the opportunity of academic achievement and for adequate progress to be made. If we are meeting at a school, there is still a minimum of 8 sessions every month. If our regularly standing appointments coincide with an off day, it is your responsibility to arrange another time with the classroom teacher, as well as your tutor.
----By May 1st of each year, please let us know the changes to your summer schedule.
We do not recommend parents to sit in on sessions. This allows for the most succesful progress! You are more than welcome to sit in the hallway with open ears to listen in. Keep in mind, children can behave differently knowing a parent is watching. Siblings are not welcome in session rooms, we ask that they remain in the front sitting area, as they are generally distractions to the student.
Payment Policy & Options
Tutoring fees are paid on a monthly basis at the beginning of each month, and are to be paid in the full amount. A late fee of $10 a day will be applied if not received by the specified due date on the invoice (typically between the 5-8th of the month, depending on when they are sent). If you are mailing in a check, please email me informing me the posted day it was sent.
Cash or check is accepted, as well as credit or debit card payments, but credit card payments will have an additional 4% fee. Credit card payments are made on request. ESA payments will also be charged a 4% processing fee.
If you want to pay by credit card, please email accounting@dyslexiaconnection.com for our credit card authorization form.
Cancellation & Makeup Session Policy:
If an emergency occurs, we understand you must cancel a session. We simply ask that you please give as much notice to your tutor as possible. Sessions cancelled in less than 24 hours will not be offered as a makeup’s, due to a lack of advance notice. There are no refunds for missed or cancelled sessions.
Make-ups are limited to one per month, and offered when advanced notice of a cancellation of a regularly standing session is given. Sometimes we are not able to make them up on our end. Please understand this prior to canceling. We will always do our best, but it is not guaranteed.
Additional sessions can always be added every month.
Excessive cancellations and missed appointments could result in the termination of The Dyslexia Connection’s tutoring service for the student or a change of time that will best suit both the student and the tutor. We do have a wait list for students trying to meet with our wonderful tutors; if your students is not there regularly, we would hope to give that spot to a student who can be.
