We are hourly or commission, Whichever pay rate is higher. We believe in livable wages! Our culture includes a high expectations, a personal career path with pay raises, the sky is he limit!
What if I can't meet super high expectations?
It is our duty as leaders to teach you how to grow your business with us. Our guests have learned to trust any team member at any level. Some feel our expectations are high, some feel it is part of a luxury brand. Transparency is one of our core values so it is important to us and your success. We invite questions to help you, if this is your new salon home.
What exactly is a Partner?
A partner is someone who graduated from cosmetology school already. They are looking to earn their equivalent of a Master's degree in cosmetology. As a partner you will have a mentor to work with every day as a second set of hands. YOU ARE NOT PART OF THE TEAM TO JUST CLEAN AND SHAMPOO. You will assist with color, blowdrys and guest happiness. You will be immersed into our culture based on our Mission, Vision, and Core Values. You will be paid during this time and have the opportunity to earn a spot as a stylist with guided metrics and quizzes. (We promise no trick questions)
I've been a licensed professional elsewhere already, do you expect me to go through the partnership program?
We respectfully ask you to go through a blended version based on the demand of your time to learn about our Partnership Program, Culture, Mission, Vision, Core Values, verbiage and systems.
Do you accept experienced professionals?
Absolutely! We are looking for kind, open and willing to learn individuals to join our team anytime. The hiring process is the same for everyone!
Do you accept brand new stylists?
Absolutely! Our Partnership Program was created just for you!
What is your hiring process?
We have a three step process.
The first step after we receive your application is setting up a phone interview with one of our team members. We want learn more about your goals and dreams.
The second step is scheduling a time to come tour the salon. We want you to get a feel for who we are. Do we fit your vibe? Is our home a place you, your guests or potential guests can enjoy?
The third step is to shadow for a couple hours, so you can see if we really are who we say we are. This is also the time you can ask our team members any questions you may have.
The Indigo Collective team will then vote to invite you permanently. We believe your team should choose you, just as you choose your team.
An onboarding meeting will then be scheduled to answer any more questions, review our guidelines and systems as well as setting your start date, training schedule, working schedule, set goals and celebrate!
Is there drama?
Our standard for resolving issues is 24 hours and go straight to the source. We believe in supporting each other, lifting others up and bringing your own amazing energy to the team. Life is too short to live reacting to others' drama. Anyone that has an inkling for drama will be asked to leave the company.
What if a director or the owner is wrong?
Respect, Accountability and Transparency are some of our core values. If there is an issue that needs to be addressed, we believe in open, authentic communication. You are always welcome to schedule a one on one meeting with a director or the owner to resolve it. We also have monthly personal development meetings that allow us to help you grow, and stay in touch.
What is full time?
A full time employee is 35 hours a week. Your number of days per week worked should be decided on YOUR happiness factor. Do you need time to be home with your family? Do you need to make a certain amount per month? Your happiness keeps us happy too.
Will I have to work nights and Saturdays?
Short answer, yes. Long answer, not forever. You can earn your way to limited nights and no Saturdays if that is your goal. If we know what your priorities and goals are, we can help you achieve them.
What kind of benefits do you offer?
We offer education benefits both in salon and fiscally, paid time off and paid vacation. There are a few more that are fun that you can ask about when you are onboarded. All benefits are dependent on your level of time with the team and level within the team.
How often can I take vacation time?
How often do you need to refresh? We have no limit on how many days per year you want to take off. We may ask you to switch a weekend or day to better serve your team, guests and your finances. There is a 60 day request policy to ensure that we do not have to move guests that have reserved your time. (Though we understand things come up and always encourage you to ask.)
