    Hello my name is _______ with Uplift Mid-MO, and I am calling in response to your request for assistance through _________. Do you have 15-20 minutes that we could go through a few things to get started?

    Great. First I'll let you know a little bit about how we operate and what the process looks like when working with Uplift Mid-MO. We are a Christian nonprofit that serves the Audrain county area. We do assist clients with a variety of financial needs, but unlike many organizations, we are not an emergency relief agency.

    If a client is not receiving any income, or their expenses exceed their income, it is our desire to help address the root issue before providing financial assistance. We understand sometimes there are immediate needs in crisis situations, and it is important for us to make sure we support you through the process. Whether it is through outside agency referrals or tangible donations, we are going to do our best to help you be successful while working with us. 

    Today we're going to do a screening, which will determine your eligibility for our programs and determine our course of action. It is important to be honest about your situation. This conversation is without judgment on my part and is confidential. Would you like to proceed?

  • If the client is NOT an Audrain County resident, let them know that our services are only available to those that live within Audrain County, but if they would like a copy of our resource guide, we would be happy to email that to them.

    Eligibility Questions:

  • IF NO, let the person know that we certainly get them into one of our coaching programs, but we cannot provide assistance on an account without interacting directly with the account holder. 

    • Ask the person if they would like us to contact the account holder to conduct the screening, or if they would like to continue for coaching only.

    EXCEPTION: If the account holder is the person's legal spouse, you can proceed as-is. 

     

  • If the client has no income at all (income includes any money coming in), let them know that while we cannot provide financial assistance while they are not sustainable financially, we can get them scheduled with a coach to help them either find a job or research government assistance programs (if they are disabled, etc).

    Photo ID, Proof of Income, Copies of ALL bills, Lease Agreement if requesting any kind of housing assistance.
