The goals of the Kansas Forage and Grassland (KSFGC) photo contest are to promote photography along with promoting and increasing awareness of the:
Diverseness, beauty and multi-faceted uses of Kansas forages;
Vital role forages play in Kansas agriculture and the state's economy; and
Conservation benefits to soil and water quality that forages provide.
Contest Awards of $100 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd, will be awarded within each class**
** 2nd place will be awarded in each class with > 5 entries; 3rd place will be awarded in each class with >10 entries.
Photo guidelines and contest rules parallel the rules for the AFGC Photo Contest and individuals are encouraged to enter photos in both contests.
Photo Guidelines: A photo should be an obvious illustration of the category in which it is entered. Does the photo tell a story? Most often, the difference between a photo you remember and one that you quickly forget depends on whether the photo tells a story. The viewer should be able to immediately identify the subject in the photo. Photos should be clear and in focus.
Entrants can submit color digital high-resolution photo files to KSFGC Headquarters. These will be displayed on the KSFGC website. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best photos. KSFGC reserves the right to use any photos submitted and credit the photographer when a photo is utilized.

The Kansas contest ends on Friday, October 30, 2020, with ALL SUBMISSIONS due by 5:00 pm, CST.
Please DO NOT retouch digital photos. Photos will be displayed on the KSFGC website, and winners will be announced at the KSFGC Annual Meeting. Entrants need not be present to win.
