FeederWatch Program Assistants will participate in the national citizen science program by identifying bird species found at the Nature Center. Volunteers must have a passion for birding and the ability to learn how to quickly identify birds by markings. An appreciation and enthusiasm for environmental preservation are preferred. Ideal candidates will be independent, self-directed and possess an ability to problem-solve. All birding abilities welcome!
Volunteers in this program must participate in an orientation/training session before they can register for shifts.
Program participants will complete a 2-hour shift (maximum) of counting backyard birds visiting the bird feeders at the Nature Center from January - March 2021 on selected weekdays. Shifts will be availabe during the hours of 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
