ONA Region 2 Board of Directors is excited to announce the availability of the following stipends with a submission deadline of March 15th, 2023!
  • Education Stipends

No one would argue that health care is increasingly complex and costly. To that end, many national organizations (Institute of Medicine, Am. Nurses Association, to list a few),call for professional nurses (RNs) at all levels to advance their education. A better educated cadre of nurses means these nurses are better able to maintain currency in evidence-based care; better able to contribute to the literature; and more likely to participate in nursing organizations. To that end, ONA Region 2 offers stipends for members to continue their education at the baccalaureate level (BS/BSN $250), master's level (MA/MS/MSN $300) and doctoral levels (DNP/ EdD/ PhD $350). ONA Region 2 Members that have completed research and have published his/her research findings in a peer-reviewed journal 2022-2023 may apply for the Publication stipend ($350). The yearly stipend amount may change each year and will be determined by the ONA Region 2 Board of Directors based on the financial resources each fiscal year. Members must complete the following, including current credentials, address, and program (university) to which you are applying. Submit electronically to ONA Region 2 no later than March 15th, 2023. Please share concisely your main reason for advancing your nursing education. Stipends will be awarded during the annual banquet. Awardees are invited to attend and concisely share the main reason for advancing their education, such as preparing for an advanced managerial / administrative position; to teach academic nursing, and / or to complete an advanced quality project.
