- RICHARD LUJAN COMMISSIONER OF THE YEAR AWARD
For demonstrating in the calendar year 2019, excellence in the performance of his/her duties as a Commissioner and his/her advocacy in the field of assisted housing with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism. Applications must demonstrate how nominees went above and beyond existing responsibilities in their performance.
- FAMILY SELF SUFFICIENCY GRADUATE OF THE YEAR AWARD
The nominee must have graduated from the FSS Program during 2019, and his or her accomplishments and/or obstacles overcome must be significant in terms of career and/or wage progression. The nominee must demonstrate overall dedication and perseverance and must serve as an example of what FSS participants can achieve when self‐sufficiency is a central goal in his or her life.
- HERO OF ASSISTED HOUSING AWARD
This award is given to a current or past participant of a low-income housing program (not limited to just public housing or Section 8) who has demonstrated in the calendar year 2019 the qualities that transformed her/him into becoming a role model for others.
- PARTNERSHIP INNOVATION (HOUSING PROVIDERS/Community Development Corp) AWARD
For demonstrating in the calendar year 2019, innovative use of programs in areas of direct client and resident services (such as homelessness, social services); economic impact (such as creative financing, preservation of assisted housing, mixed-income developments); innovative uses of funds (such as working with other partners to create community development projects); and/or administrative methods (such as inter‐agency cooperation, management systems, community relations). Nominee performance must be above and beyond what is required under any existing agreements, contracts, or MOUs. The activity must be innovative and replicable.
Awarded to an elected or appointed official who, in the calendar year 2019, demonstrated excellence as an advocate of housing programs by providing consistent support of housing activities, and developing and promoting financial, political and community support of housing. This should not be a Commissioner as there is a “Commissioner of the Year Award” described above.
