The Huon Valley Mid-Winter Festival is back! We're calling out to Tassie food stalls that honour seasonal produce with a nod to winter, to join us at the festival from 10-12 July 2020.
And if you're a Tassie maker/artisan working with the elements of the earth and can incorporate 'live making onsite' we'd like to hear from you too.
We had a hoot at the Ranelagh Recreation Grounds last and year and despite the deluge of rain and mud we welcomed 11,000 festivalgoers to the site.
This year we're anticipating 18,000 to join us over the weekend.
A vibrant, intriguing and pumping festival, the Huon Valley Mid-Winter Festival showcases exceptional Tassie produce, artisanal booze, music, tradition and ceremony to collectively WAKE UP WINTER in the Huon Valley.
Yes Big Willie, our giant bonfire, the Wassail and all the other much-loved elements of our festival will be back again too!
The festival is based on the old age tradition of wassailing - a ceremonial blessing of dormant apple trees in midwinter to clebrate the history, community and the spirit of the Huon Valley in the dead of winter.
