John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School is pleased to offer the below scholarships which provide for the part remission of tuition fees for Years 9 to12 from 2021:
SPECIALIST BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIP (5 Scholarships available)
Awarded to 5 students in Year 8, 2021 or Year 9 2021 at a school other than John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School. The scholarship provides for 50% remission of tuition fees at JSRACS from the Year of commencement through to graduation at the end of Year 12.
CONDITIONS OF AWARD
These Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal by recommendation from the Scholarship Committee. Successful candidates must demonstrate a sound academic record together with good Basketball skills and gameplay understandings, with the potential to make a positive and ongoing contribution to the School.
The Scholarships are awarded on the condition that the recipient will finish their secondary education at JSRACS. Should a Scholarship recipient leave the School prior to graduation they may be required to return the financial award of the Scholarship to the School.
It is also expected that the recipients commit to working on their skill sets outside of the Specialist Basketball Program and actively represent JSRACS in basketball as well as their respective WABL clubs.
The continuation of the Scholarship throughout the year is subject to the recipient making good academic progress, displaying conduct of the highest standard and contributing to the life of the School through positive participation in the Specialist Basketball Program and other co-curricular activities.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The attached application form should be completed and returned to the School together with:
• A copy of the student’s latest school report;
• A recent character reference from an adult who knows the applicant well and is not related to the applicant.
• A copy of the student’s Birth Certificate
• A copy of the student’s Immunisation History Statement
INTERVIEWS
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to attend an interview with the Principal and the Scholarship Committee. The interview will be with the student alone. Parents will have the opportunity to tour the School facilities and meet with Senior School staff and student leaders during the student interview.
