To be an Area Coordinator, you must live, own property, or own a business in that Area (see map). Area Coordinators must be 16 years or older at the time of election.
For the renter positions, you must be a residential renter at the time of the election.
Officers (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) must be 18 years or older at the time of election.
Why are some positions for one year and others for two?
This is a transition election after changing the bylaws in April 2019 to create staggered terms. So, this year some positions are one-year and some are two-year terms. In 2021, about half the positions will be up for re-election and all terms will be two years long.
Why first and second preferences?
We're asking for first and second preferences to speed up adjustments to the ballot to balance it out. For instance, if 6 people want to run for 1st VP, but no one said Area 2 Coordinator, this helps us know who to ask about switching what they are running for before March 9 when the Board votes on the ballot.
