Criteria for the KY TRIO Adult Learners Scholarship
Applicants must be currently enrolled in one of the following Kentucky TRIO programs: SSS, EOC, VUB or McNair. Applicants for the KY TRIO Adult Learners Scholarship must be admitted to a postsecondary institution and plan to be enrolled the following semester (i.e. must be planning to attend during the fall semester of the 2020/2021 academic year).
Personal Essay. A personal essay (750 words max) based on “How has participation in a TRIO program influenced your professional goals and prepared you to be successful after college?”
Activities. List any significant experience (i.e. these may include such things as family, school, church, community, work, volunteer, or any other activities that the applicant feels are relevant.
Honors and Awards. List any national, regional, or local awards and recognition.
Letter of Recommendation. One letter of recommendation of the applicant’s choice (i.e. counselor, instructor, employer, pastor, etc).
Letter of Nomination. One letter of nomination from a TRIO professional in your program who is currently a KY TRIO member.
Scholastics. Must submit the following:
· Copy of the most current transcript (applicants currently enrolled in a college/university)
· Copy of high school transcript or GED certificate (applicants not currently enrolled in a college/university)
DEADLINE: Submit no later than 5:00PM [EST] on Friday, April 24, 2020.
Applications that are incomplete or missing required information WILL NOT be considered and will be disqualified.
