  • 2020 Worship Team Expectations and Code of Conduct

  • Hello Team Member. I am so blessed to have a team of talented, committed, and loving people. I feel like I am the most blessed worship leader in town. I hope you know how much you are appreciated and I’m searching for more ways this year to show it.

Being a part of this team is a privilege and we should all strive to do our best to bring glory to God. The following items are things that will help us with Excellence for the Sake of the Gospel.

    • Be in the Word of God.  Daily devotion and bible study are essential as a Christian as well as a leader of worship.

    • Pray.  Please pray regulary for our Church Family, our Pastors, our Community, and our Team Members.

    • PLEASE Respond to the Planning Center request ASAP.  If you CANNOT help lead that weekend, select DECLINE so that I might be able to find a replacement in a timely manner that gives that replacement time to practice. If you CAN help lead on your specified day, select ACCEPT so that I am not wondering if you are coming or not.  This takes a matter of seconds.

    • PLEASE arrive ON TIME. This shows consideration and respect or a lack thereof for the rest of your team.  Being on time allows us plenty of time to rehearse. When we start late and are pressed for time, this causes added stress to the team and takes away from our ability to lead with excellence. This is not fair and frustrates your team members who are always on time and ready. In order to be on time, you must arrive early.

    • PLEASE arrive PREPARED. This includes but is not limited to:
Knowing your part -personal practice  time happens at home and not during team rehearsal.
      • Working Gear - cables, batteries, strings, sticks, picks, tuners, EXTRA cables, batteries, strings, sticks, picks
iPads and Tablets charged up and loaded with the current Planning Center list. Do this at home for your own practice time as you can also make on-screen notes. This also helps avoid internet connection issues and download problems that are too late for me to fix at rehearsal time.

      • Proper Attire. Please don’t look like you just rolled out of bed or come from a weekend float trip.  Put some thought into how you are presenting yourself on the platform as well as the livestream in the presence of the King of kings.

      • On the Platform.  Stay focused on the current activity, i.e., video, prayer, communion, etc. Limit distractions, talking, and noises while on the platform. We are up front and very visible as well as being broadcast on video.

      • Keep platform and surrounding area clean and free of clutter such as, bags, coats, cases, trash, drink containers, cables and cords neat and tidy.  Mugs, thermoses, bottled water for singers is ok. Please keep huge and not so pretty gas station drink containers hidden, backstage, or keep them at your seat.

      • Fellowship. Please allow time before worship (as time allows), and after worship to hang out and be a part of the Joy Community. People want to get to know you. Fellowship with each other and our Joy Community is the heart of the New Testament Church. This helps us all grow in faith and love toward one another and helps people connect and feel connected. Brunch can wait just a few more minutes.

    Code of Conduct

We are ambassadors of Christ and should conduct ourselves as such. This includes on the platform, in the lobby, out in the parking lot, at home, on our street, in our workplaces, at the store and last but not least, on SOCIAL MEDIA.  Be mindful. The world is watching.
