AGREEMENTS
Special Event Artists may elect to consign their artwork to ShopColumbia and allow ShopColumbia representatives to sell their work for the duration of the event. If Artist chooses not to consign their artwork, ShopColumbia will not promote the artwork as for sale.
ARTIST AND ARTWORK ELIGIBILITY.
All currently enrolled Columbia College Chicago students and Columbia College Chicago alumni exhibiting in a Department of Exhibition and Performance Spaces' (DEPS) gallery, are eligible for consignment. Since all work exhibited in a DEPS exhibition has been either juried or curated, all exhibited work is approved for consignment and does not need to be reviewed by the ShopColumbia Review Board.
CONSIGNMENT PERIOD. The consignment period is for the duration of the Special Event.
SALE OF ARTIST WORK. The Artist authorizes ShopColumbia to sell the Artist's work, at the price predetermined by the Artist, and to arrange the terms of the sale. The sale price of the work will not be changed during the consignment period. During the consignment period, ShopColumbia has sole right to sell the Artist's work as included in the Consignment Agreement. In the event work is discounted, the discount will be subtracted from the commission fee of ShopColumbia, not to exceed 15%.
SALES TAX. ShopColumbia is responsible for collecting all sales, use or transfer tax owed on the sale of the artwork and agrees to collect the applicable taxes and report the same on its applicable sales, use and transfer tax returns.
CONSIGNMENT FEE. ShopColumbia charges a 15% reduced special event consignment fee to all student work sold during this Special Event.
PAYMENT TO ARTIST. ShopColumbia agrees to pay the artist in a timely manner, within 90 days of the sale of work. ShopColumbia will pay the Artist the predetermined amount, subtracting ShopColumbia's consignment fee of 15%. The Columbia Accounting Department will mail a physical check directly to the address on the W9 the artist filled out. This check will be addressed from Columbia College Chicago and will not have any mention of ShopColumbia or the above Special Event (INK Fest 2022). Please Note: Due to a change In the College's Accounting Department, ShopColumbla Is unable to reissue checks. Please deposit checks within 60 days of processing.
ARTIST CONTACT INFORMATION. The Artist will provide the store with a current mailing address, email address, and phone number and provide updates to contact information within 30 days if any information changes.
USE AND LIKENESS OF WORKS. Artwork may be photographed and/or reproduced in print or online for educational, promotional and sales purposes by ShopColumbia or Columbia College Chicago for perpetuity. The artist consents that publication of artwork may be electronically transmitted via the Internet and subsequently used, altered, or republished. Artist accepts the possibility that unconsented third party use, alteration or reproduction may occur, and waives any claim of damages from the ShopColumbia or the College's publication of artwork by third parties accessing the Internet.
