    The Charlotte (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated 

    • Selection Criteria  
    • The goal of this scholarship is to provide $2,500 per year in educational assistance for two years to a deserving high school senior or current CPCC student of African-American or  African diaspora culture.
       
      The scholarship recipient will be chosen on the basis of the following criteria:

      (1) Merit as demonstrated by past leadership, special talents and aptitudes and school and community involvement

      (2) Comparative scholastic data such as aptitude and achievement, test scores and class rank

       

       Additionally, the scholarship recipient must:

      (1) Be accepted and enrolled at CPCC

      (2) Have a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5

      (3) Be available during the month of April for an interview with the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Scholarship Committee

      Please note that Heir-o-Links are not eligible

    • In a narrative of no more than 800 words, please respod to the following:

      (1) What are your Strengths and Weaknesses? 

      (2) What are your most significant achievements in your school and in your community?

      (3) State your reason(s) for applying for this scholarship

    • Selection Conditions 
    • The student selected as the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated Scholar will be invited to accept the scholarship award subject to the following conditions:

      (1) Each scholarship will be renewable annually during the scholarship recipient’s two years years if all criteria are meet


      (2) At the end of the first year, the recipient must maintain a 2.5 or better grade point average.  During the second year, the student must also carry a minimum of 12 hours and continue to maintain at least a 2.5 or better grade point average


      (3)  The recipient must ensure that an official transcript is submitted to the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated within 18 days of the end of each semester/term


      (4) During each academic year, the recipient will continue to demonstrate qualities of scholastic excellence, leadership and responsible personal behavior

    • Certification 
    • I hereby certify that:
       
      (1) I will be a full-time student as defined at CPCC


      (2) I will use the proceeds of the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Scholarship for payment of tuition and required fees, room and board or similar living expenses.  I understand  that the proceeds from the scholarship will be remitted directly to the college or and that I will provide the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated with the appropriate  address to CPCC and student ID.


      (3) If I withdraw from CPCC, any remaining funds will be returned to the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated by CPCC


      (4) I understand that this scholarship is renewable if my GPA is maintained at a minimum of a 2.5 and I will carry a minimum of 12 hours


      (5) I agree to submit a welcome letter from CPCC before  being notified of selection as a Charlotte (NC) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated Scholar


      (6) I agree to allow the college or university officials to release transcripts and periodic information regarding my academic progress to the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated


      (7) I agree that the Charlotte (NC) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated can use my photo and publish my academic accomplishments as a scholarship recipient
