BIG IDEAS
The BIG IDEAS activity is intended to help establish priorities as we look ahead to 2040. Results of this activity will help to inform a vision statement for the Forward 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
While everything listed is important and will be touched on in the plan, we want to understand what the top priorities are.
You will select priorities from the following:
Community Character: Ensuring new development supports community appearance and historic atmosphere.
Existing Neighborhoods: Protecting established neighborhoods from incompatible development to ensure continued vitality.
Environmental Sustainability: Preserving and enhancing natural resources, such as trees and streams.
Economic Sustainability: Increased commercial services and education and employment opportunities.
High Quality Public Services: Improving public safety, water, code enforcement, etc.
Housing Choice and Opportunity: Meeting changing needs in a way that is compatible with community values and providing options for all price points.
Walking and Biking Options: More sidewalks, trails and bicycle lanes.
Street System: Ensuring vehicular mobility while enhanving transit connections.
Vibrant Community Life: Sustaining and expanding opportunities for arts & culture and recreation opportunities to create a high quality of life.
