INSTRUCTIONS
When you complete this form and click on SEND TO STATE JOURNAL, we will receive the information via email and no further action will be required. You will get an email listing the questions and your responses. You can then forward that information to other media outlets, so you'll only have to fill out one form.
UPLOADING: If you already have prepared a season preview document of your own, please fill in the required areas of this form (red stars) and go to the end, where you can click to upload the file as an attachment. We've also provided areas for you to cut-and-paste preview information from a computer file.
EMAIL, FAX, REGULAR MAIL: If you would prefer to send information via email, send to PrepZone@madison.com. Send faxes to (608) 252-6119. Send by regular mail to Art Kabelowsky, Sports, Wisconsin State Journal, 1901 Fish Hatchery Road, Madison, WI 53713.
Note that you might receive preview forms from us through regular mail, fax and email. Different coaches prefer various methods. We only need one response!
PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR VARSITY ROSTER! We need time to enter all rosters into our online database to make things run more smoothly when you call in! Advance entry of rosters cuts down on hold times, busy signals and missed deadlines on meet night.
REPORTING RESULTS ON MEET NIGHTS
TIME is the most important factor in getting results to us. Our deadlines are very tight. The sooner you report statistics to us, the better the chance we can get them into the newspaper.
The flood of results that comes at us during spring sports season makes it VERY UNLIKELY that a result sent to us after deadline or the following day will make it into print. Please remember to submit results.
Email for results: WSJSport@madison.com. Fax for results: 608-252-6194. Phone number to call in results: 608-252-6170 or 800-686-1339.
Automatic timing:
If your meet has automatic timing posted online, please let us know or have the company set up an email to us when results are ready. There are more than a dozen companies out there and we simply can't monitor them all constantly, wondering where a meet might pop up. If your timing service offers emailing of finished results, please include WSJsport@madison.com on the list.
What we take:
For duals, triangulars, quads: Final team scores, event winners.
For invitationals: Team scores and one to six places, depending on meet size, number of area teams, location. If you give us access to a PDF of complete results of your invitational, we will work to post it online with our story.
For WIAA meets: No need to report; we get results from the WIAA website.
