Gourmets for God is an opportunity to meet other members of the Center for Spiritual Living San Jose community while gathering at an array of fun events that always include food. You are invited to discover our Community’s delightful culinary talents and meet new friends!  

How does it work? 

Read on!!

    Members and Friends of the Center volunteer to host a dinner, a brunch, a breakfast, a picnic (anything is possible!) for a pre-determined number of guests, on a date of their choice.  You can do this! You can host a meal can be in your home or any another location – again, anything is possible!

     Fellow Members and Friends will then bid on your meal(s) during our Gourmets for God silent auction, which will commence after Sunday services for four weeks beginning Sunday, April 7th and ending on Sunday, April 28th, thus creating a delightful fundraiser for the Center for Spiritual Living San Jose!

    Please volunteer to host a meal!  You may sign up to Host an event by completing this form either on line at home, or after Sunday services between March 1st and March 22nd, where someone is available to help you (visit a Gourmets for God team member in Fellowship Hall.)  

    Just think, you can plan your meal over a weekend, weeknight or holiday and expand your circle of friends!  Hosted events will be published for viewing on the Auction website (in a link through the Center website) and in an auction booklet beginning March 29th in joyful anticipation of bidding!  Winning bidders will be notified the week of April 19th.

    Be creative with your meal ideas and descriptions and please know that the Gourmets for God team will be happy to “spice it up!”  Here are a few samples:

Did you host an event last year you’d like to repeat? Let us know the 2020 new day of the week, date and time and we’ll take care of pulling it forward for you!

PLEASE NOTE, THIS DATE AND TIME MUST BE FIRM IN YOUR CALENDAR; IT CANNOT BE CHANGED ONCE IT IS PUBLISHED, SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR CALENDAR CAREFULLY!

BE CREATIVE!  AND PLEASE KNOW THAT THE G4G COMMITTEE MAY REWRITE/RETITLE YOUR EVENT FOR MARKETING PURPOSES.  

Previous events and ideas have included: Dinner & a Movie, Hot dogs and bowling, Bollywood Curry, Raw Food Class (Eat, Pray, Live!), Thanksgiving in July, Dinner and Dominos, Walking and Waffles, Tapas and ‘Tini’s, Carols and Cookies (Christmas caroling and cookie-baking party). As you can see, there’s plenty of opportunity for fun, food and fellowship!

  e.g., Not suitable for anyone with cat/dog allergies, not for certain food allergies, contains peanuts, is this a gluten free event? Are their stairs? Wheelchair accessible, outdoors, bring a jacket?
