    Thank you for your interest in the Ariya Yoga School 200-hour Teacher Training program.  Please read all the information carefully and print for your records.

    The completed application includes:

    1) the application & release of liability waiver (both signed)
    2) your RECENT photo
    3) the completed essay questions
    4) two uploaded letters of reference – one from your current yoga teacher and another from a non-family member advocating your mental and physical capacity for this intensive training

    Your spot in the program is confirmed AFTER your application has been approved AND payment-in-full or non- refundable deposit have been received and cleared.

    Who this program is for:

    Our Yoga Teacher Training program is for yoga practitioners who have a love for yoga born out of practice who want to bring the practice to other people. We help our YTT students develop the skills needed as professional teachers to share yoga with students. To enroll in our training, you must meet the following PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

    1) One-plus years of consistent, hatha yoga practice with at least six months of regular classes.
    2) The ability to demonstrate an experiential understanding of yoga practice and its benefits. This includes self study of texts and teachings.

  • CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

  • Once you have been accepted into the program you will be asked to provide a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold your space in the program. 30 days before start of training: you will be refunded tuition minus $500. 30 days or less: No refund possible.

  • CERTIFICATION CRITERIA

  • Successful completion of this course will give you a certification as a 200 hour Yoga Teacher. Certified yoga teachers must possess the skills necessary to safely and competently teach yoga. Although the majority of students who complete this program are certified, we reserve the right to withhold certification from any student who fails to demonstrate the skills necessary to competently teach.

    Every attempt will be made to provide each student feedback throughout the program concerning any perceived deficits that might prevent certification. If it is determined that a student has not successfully met the certification requirements, s/he will meet with the Program Director who will determine appropriate steps required to complete certification. If the student cannot show the necessary skills 6 months after graduation, certification cannot be obtained without successfully repeating the program in entirety.

    The following criteria will be used to determine eligibility for certification:


    1) 90% attendance for all sessions. For situations that arise during the training, contact the Program Director as soon as possible to explore possibilities. Any missed sessions must be made up at the student's expense.


    2) All homework assignments must be completed as assigned.


    3) All students must participate fully in all practices, learning exercises and Practice Teach sessions during the program. The Practice Teach sessions are opportunities to cultivate teaching skills. They are also opportunities for the Program Director(s) to assess students’ progress and ability to safely lead and teach Yoga.

    4) Students must pass written examination, take home examination, and practical teaching examination with minimum of 80%.

     

  • ASHRAM RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • The student’s behavior and attitude, while at the ashram, should respect ashram culture and enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the ashram. The ashram should not be treated like a social club or resort.

    1. Students should maintain an atmosphere encouraging mutual respect, civil and congenial relationships and free from all forms of harassment and violence, where everyone can discuss their differences and exchange ideas openly, honestly and respectfully. 

    2. Students should use respectful language with each other. Any bullying, negative gossiping, spreading of rumors may result to expulsion from the course.

    3. Use of tobacco, alcohol, non-prescription drugs, meat, fish, eggs are NOT allowed while staying at the ashram.

    4. Students should not make public displays of affection. Public nudity is forbidden. Celibacy as part of the spiritual discipline is encouraged while staying at the ashram. Modest dress (shoulders, midriff and legs covered) should be maintained at all times including asana classes. Loose cotton clothing is encouraged.

     5. Use of electronic gadgets like mobile phones / tablets etc. is limited to free time unless being used for note taking.

    6.Use of heavy electrical items like iron, water cooker etc is not allowed in the rooms due to electricity overload problem.

    7. Participation in scheduled classes, karma yoga and previously stated activities is mandatory unless participant is unwell.

    8..Photography, video, audio recording is not allowed during the classes without prior permission of the course director.

  • TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • 1. Students are responsible for their own medical and health care. They should carry their own medicines if necessary. Very limited medical care is available at the ashram and it can be provided only in case of emergency.

    2. AYS cannot be held liable for any accidents, injuries or thefts during the course.

    3. All fees are payable 10 weeks before the course starts or the given due date, in case of nonpayment in time the registration may be cancelled and the deposit may be forfeited.

    4. In case the course is rescheduled or cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, AYS's liability is limited to the refund of deposited fees only.

    6. AYS reserves the right to use any pictures / videos taken during the course and activities for its records and promotional purposes.

    7. Even in possession of the student the copyright for the AYS teacher training manual and content stays with AYS and is forbidden to share / distribute it.

    8. Certificate will be awarded after passing the exams with at least 200 of attendance hours.

    9. AYS is not responsible if the ashram environment or the course does not meet personal expectations of the student. We only assure you what is mentioned on the website.

    10. If you have any doubts regarding your physical or mental fitness and health please check with us in a prior to submitting your application through a separate email. By receiving your application we assume that you are physically and mentally fit and stable and not pregnant.

     

  • In case of expulsion from the course

    After the commencement of the course any transfer of registration is not possible. An exception can be only made, in case of certain medical conditions where the student can provide the proof that he or she cannot follow the course any more. This does not cover any medical conditions or ailments which already existed prior to the start of the course. Transfer of registration to a third person is not possible.

    If a student is expelled from the course due to non observance of ashram rules/ regulations then no refund can be claimed.

    In case of cancellation or rescheduling by ARIYA YOGA SCHOOL

    In case of cancellation or rescheduling of the course by the AYS, students have the choice to transfer to another course or to receive a full refund of the paid fees. Our liability is limited to the refund of the received fees only.

  • FULL DISCLOSURE

  • The information an applicant provides on this form is treated as confidential and will only be seen by those teachers and staff involved with the Teacher Training Course. ARIYA YOGA SCHOOL treats all personal data you provide in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act.

False, incomplete, or misleading information is grounds for rejection of this application, expulsion from the program, or revocation of certification after completion of the program.

  • ACCIDENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM

  • In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in activity of Yoga Teacher Training Course or Yoga Retreat or Yoga Vacation program organized by Khushi Malhotra, Ariya Yoga School, I hereby state on behalf of myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns, as follows:

    (A) I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: Khushi Malhotra, Ariya Yoga School, and/or their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers FROM ANY LIABILITY, including but not limited to, liability arising from any conduct of the above-mentioned persons and entities resulting in death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from this activity;

    (B) INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity;

    (C) I AGREE TO OBEY all posted rules, warnings and further agree to follow any oral instructions, warnings, and directions given by the above-mentioned event organizer and/or their representatives;

    (D) Any dispute or complaint of any nature against staff or volunteers shall in the first place be submitted to the Course Director or Ashram Caretaker.

    I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN ANY/ALL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS EVENT FROM ANY RISKS THAT MAY ARISE FROM, including but not limited to: negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities, any possible liability without fault, dangerous or defective equipment that is owned, maintained, or controlled by Khushi Malhotra, Ariya Yoga School, and/or their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers.

    I acknowledge that Khushi Malhotra, Ariya Yoga School and their directors, teachers, officers, volunteers, representatives, and agents are NOT responsible for the errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific activity on their behalf.

    I acknowledge that this activity may involve a test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, lack of hydration, and actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, monitors, and/or producers of the activity. These risks do not only pertain to participants, but also to volunteers.

    I acknowledge that mental and physical fitness, preparation, and training is of the utmost importance before and during the course. I acknowledge that I have the duty to report to the above-mentioned event organizer and/or their representatives, any physical or mental discomfort or complaints or (suspected) pregnancy before or during the course. I acknowledge that there are no health-related reasons, problems or history which preclude my participation in this activity and that I have not been advised against participating in this activity by a qualified medical professional.

    I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the activity in which I may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said activity.

    I hereby consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this activity.

    The Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. The maximum liability is in any case limited to the amount paid for the course by applicant.
