Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our campaign and resources about balance in older athletes. The survey should only take 5 minutes!

    Just before we start...

BMAF has collaborated with researchers at Manchester Metropolitan University. Together we have made some important findings about how muscles deteriorate with age and the importance of strength and specific balance training for Masters athletes.

We found that the balance of older Masters athletes was no better than the balance of healthy people of the same age. This is a serious problem because poor balance increases the risk of falls and fractures.

Research recommends that Masters athletes participate in a minimum of 45 minutes of specific balance training per week to improve postural stability and prevent falls in older age.

Before you take the survey, please read the brochure by clicking on the link or image below. But don't forget to return and complete this survey because we really want to know if you change your training regime!
