Our policy is to inform adopters "either way" - either you will receive contact from our team indicating

This contact can sometimes take 7-10 business days as we are a volunteer-run organization. Please double-check your contact information that you supplied in the first few lines to ensure it is correct.

1. If a dog is listed as a "COMING ATTRACTION", applications will not be processed until a dog has moved to "AVAILABLE".

2. Our adoption process includes, in order:
- A reference check, including a veterinary reference check (if applicable)
- An interview / phone call
- A home visit
- A meet and greet

With multiple volunteers handling each application, it does take some time (several business days to two weeks or sometimes more).

3. We do not ship dogs, transport them to adopters, or do gift adoptions or adoptions for anyone other than the named party in this application

4. Your application can be accepted for ONE DOG PER HOUSEHOLD at a time. If you submit:
- multiple applications per household for dogs available at the same time
- multiple applications per dog
- applications for multiple dogs available at the same time
all of your applications will be discarded.

You also give SOHO permission to perform background checks to ensure that the applicant is a suitable adopter and does not have a history of animal abuse/neglect. The information contained in this application is material to our decision to place a dog into a home and will become part of the contract in the event you adopt a dog from SOHO.
