    2020-21 Membership Application
  • The UCLA Parents' Council is the governing body of the UCLA Parent & Family Association, composed of dedicated parent volunteers who serve as ambassadors for the University. Council members engage with parents and family members to foster connections and build partnerships with the University, assist with outreach to current and prospective families, participate in broadening and deepening relationships in support of the University, and represent the parent perspective on the UCLA experience. 

    COUNCIL MEMBER COMMITMENTS

    • Serve a one-year renewable term.
    • Attend on-campus Parents' Council meetings.
      • Southern California residents must attend a minimum of two out of three meetings annually.
      • Members outside of Southern California must attend a minimum of one meeting annually.
    • Actively participate in at least one Field Committee.
    • Participate in a minimum of three (3) volunteer activities/events throughout the year (e.g. Move-in Weekend, Meet & Greet gatherings, and New Bruin welcome events.)
    • Represent the interests of all Bruin parents and serve as an ambassador to other UCLA parents and community members.

    Please note: Parents' Council recruitment is a selective process used to identify a skilled and diverse group of highly dedicated parent volunteers to serve the UCLA Parent & Family Association. Your responses should represent your best efforts to communicate your skills, motivations and interest in serving as ambassadors for UCLA.

  • PARENTS' COUNCIL COMMITTEES 
    Parents' Council committees support campus and community events, and affinity-building activities, by partnering with various University programs on initiatives that focus on outreach to, and engagement of, our diverse range of Bruin families. 

    Field Committees Descriptions

    • Future Bruin Outreach | Members work in their local community, and at UCLA, to recruit the new class of Bruins.
    • Parent Engagement Programs | Members assist in the organization and implementation of programs that build parent communities and relationships.
    • Parent Fundraising Initiatives | Members assist with philanthropic efforts of the University among parents and family members.
    • Student Engagement Initiatives | Members work with campus partners whose focus is on retention and career development.
    • Student Outreach Initiatives | Members support campus partners who provide specialized support to various student populations.
  • *Each council member will serve on a field committee, but members have the opportunity to participate in any/all events and volunteer opportunities.
