Busker Application 2020-2021

Harbourfront Centre's Busker Program has multiple waterfront pitches available throughout the our site to licensed circle and animation acts.

Local Busker License: Year-long licenses to perform on Harbourfront Centre busker pitches. Licenses are issued each spring starting May 1st.

Guest Busker Pass: Two-week licenses to perform on Harbourfront Centre busker pitches. When available, these are issued to qualified performers for specified two-week periods throughout the year.

License Fees:

Local Busker License - $50 annual

Guest Busker Pass - $15 two-week pass

Merchandising Fee - $15 (in addition to License)

Circle ActAnimation Act

Circle Act: A structured performance with a beginning, middle and end, and a total duration of 25 – 45 minutes. These acts require a larger physical space as they tend to draw a larger crowd for a short, set period of time. Circle Acts are required to carry their own insurance and proof of insurance will be required prior to the issuing of a license.

Animation Act: An act which is continuous and relies on a stream of pedestrian traffic. These acts require a smaller footprint of space than circle acts as their audiences are transient and never too large at one given time. Examples are living statues, musicians or balloon twisters.

Busking locations are designated as either Circle Pitches or Animation Pitches and licenses are specified as one or the other.

Circle Acts are required to carry Commercial General Liability Insurance for at least $2 million per occurrence. Are you able to provide proof of insurance prior to your requested pass date(s)?
