You are applying for sawyer certification, required of all crosscut and chain saw sawyers cutting on Forest Service managed lands. This certification is a US Forest Service certification and is achieved by attending a BCHW course consisting of an all-day class of BOTH classroom training and field trip demonstration. Attending BCHW Saw Certification class alone does not guarantee certification. Certification cards will only be issued to applicants who exhibit safety and skill proficiency using the saw in field demonstration during the course and have current First Aid/CPR cards.

Crosscut certifications requires 16 or + years of age, chain saw requires 18 or + years of age.

If applying for chain saw certification, this is not a beginning chain saw instruction course. We assume you have prior chain saw experience and know how to safely operate a chain saw.
