    The State of the African Diaspora (SOAD) is a pan-African organization established to promote economic growth, investment, and development in Africa by leveraging the resources, expertise, and networks of the African Diaspora.

    SOAD aims to create a platform for African Diaspora individuals and institutions to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the development of their countries of origin and the continent as a whole.

    SOAD was essentially given a mandate by the African Union to operationalize the concept of the African Diaspora as a "Sixth Region" of Africa. With almost 350 million people, the African Diaspora is the THIRD COUNTRY in the world after China and India, but greater than The United States of America (323 million), Indonesia (258 million) and Brazil (205 million).

    SOAD is to:
    - Mobilize and engage African Diaspora communities globally
    - Foster economic, social, and cultural ties between Diaspora and the continent
    - Contribute to Africa's development through Diaspora resources and expertise

    - Establish regional SOAD chapters in key Diaspora hubs (e.g., US, UK, Europe, Brazil)
    - Create online platforms for Diaspora networking and collaboration
