  • What is Water Baptism?

  • Water baptism symbolizes burial, by which the new Christian publicly declares they have died, and are now beginning a new life, in Christ. It is a statement of faith. My old life is behind me - I’m a new person, with a new life. Water baptism is a sign of repentance. Repentance means change, a change so drastic that the old person is “buried.” It is a way of giving testimony to what has happened inwardly, and a clear commitment to turn from the old life. Jesus wants us to obey Him by being baptized in water. He set the example by being baptized Himself. Being baptized is not something you do to get saved, or so you can go to heaven. You get saved when you pray and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life.

  • Who Should be Baptized?

  • Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are candidates for water baptism.

Romans 3:23: The Bible says ALL have sinned.

Romans 6:23: Sin has a price tag called death.

John 3:16: Because He loves us, Jesus paid that price when He died on the cross.

2 Corinthians 5:21: Even though He never sinned, He took our sin upon Himself.

Ephesians 2:8-9: After three days, Jesus rose to life, leaving our sins in the grave. And so today, because the price has been paid for your sins, you can receive the gift of salvation.

Romans 10:9-10: The Bible says that if you believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for you, and you confess Jesus as your Savior and Lord; you will be saved.

  • Salvation Prayer

  • Dear Heavenly Father,

I believe in my heart that Jesus is Your Son, that He died on the cross to pay the price for my sins, that He was raised from the dead, and has given me eternal life.

I receive forgiveness for my sins and the gift of salvation by faith.

I say with my mouth that Jesus is my Savior and Lord, and I will serve Him forever.

If you prayed in faith and meant it, Jesus came into your heart!
