  • How to enable GeoLocation on iPhone and Android

  • If a small Google maps application does not appear above, your geolocation DOES NOT WORK. Follow the instructions below to fix your geolocation.

    • For iPhone: 
    • If you don't see a map above it means that GeoLocation was not enabled either for the whole phone or for the browser that you're using to view this page. Please follow the steps below to fix it.

       

      These settings might be slightly different with different phone versions, but generally the same.

      For iPhone:

      1. Tap on "Settings" (for your phone)

    • 2. Next, tap on "Privacy"

    • 3. Tap on "Location Services" then tap on the toggle bar next to "Location Services" so that the color is changed from grey/white to green or blue.

    • 4. Under this toggle, you will see a list of apps which are allowed to use Location Services on your phone, Click on Safari and choose "While using the app"

    • 5. Press back to go to your main settings.

    • 6. Scroll down in your main settings and find the app Safari. Click on it to access Safari browser settings.

    • 7. Scroll down until you find the option "Block Pop-ups" and turn it off (press the button and make sure the toggle bar is changed from a green/blue color to grey/white as seen in the image below).

    • 8. Scroll down further under Safari Settings until you find the option "Location" and click on it.

    • 9. If you see the website hipaa.jotform.com, make sure that location access is allowed (see image below). Also make sure that Location is allowed for "Other Websites" as well.

    • 10. Open your timesheet again in Safari and click the "AA" in the top lefthand corner of the screen (see image below).

    • 11. Select "Website Settings".

    • 12. Make sure "Location" is listed as "Allow". If it is not, click on it and select "Allow".

    • 13. Hit "Done" and return to the timesheet. Afterwards, hit the refresh button in the top lefthand corner of the screen (see image below).

    • 14. After refreshing, scroll down and click on the "Time In - Time Out" section of the timesheet. Underneath you should see a question called "Geolocation" (see image below).

      A pop-up may appear asking if you want to share your location. Make sure you tap allow.

      If you see a map or longitude/latitude appear, you are finished!

      If you do not see anything appear, please notify your supervisor.

    • For Android: 
    • For Android:

      1. From your home screen, enter your Settings menu and click on "Apps" or "App Permissions" (as seen in image below).

    • 2.  Select browser that you're using (Chrome or Internet or Firefox) as seen in image below.

    • 3. Find "Permissions" for your selected browser.

    • 5. Under "App Permissions" make sure "Location" is turned on (blue color) as seen below.

    • 5. Exit your settings.

      6. Return to your timesheet and refresh the page. Now it should update geolocations correctly and accurately.

      STOP

      Geolocation should now be working properly.

      If you are still having geolocation issues and you are not using Chrome, please contact your supervisor. 

      If are using Chrome browser, follow the steps below:

    • 1. Click on Chrome to open up the browser and click on the three vertical dots displayed in the top right corner (see image below).

    • 2. A list will be displayed. Scroll down that list until you see "Settings" (see image below).

    • 3. Click on "Settings" (see image listed below).

    • 4. Scroll down "Settings" until you find "Site settings". Click on "Site settings".

    • 5. Under "Site settings" find "Location" and click on it.

    • 6. Under "Location", make sure the blue toggle button is switched on (in blue) as displayed in image below. Under "Blocked", make sure the website "www.jotform.com" is not listed. If it is not listed skip to Step #8.

      7. If it is listed, click on the website name "www.jotform.com", click "Location access", and click "Allow for current search Engine".

    • 8. Go back to "Site settings" and click on "Pop-ups and redirects".

    • 9. Make sure the the toggle button for "Pop-ups and redirects" is turned on (blue) as shown in the image below.

    • 9. Exit your Chrome settings.

      10. Return to your timesheet and refresh the page. Now it should update geolocations correctly and accurately.

    • TIPS FOR MAC USERS 
    • How to turn on Location Services on a Mac


      1. Click on the Apple symbol in the upper left corner.

      2. Click on "System Preferences."

      3. Click on "Security & Privacy" in the top row.

      4. Click on the "Privacy" tab.

      5. Click on the padlock icon in the bottom corner of the window. You will be asked to authenticate by entering your computer ID and password.

      6. Once you've entered your information, you will be able to toggle and adjust Location Services.

    • 7. Check the box next to "Enable Location Services."

      8. You have now turned on your Mac's location services. 

      9. Now reopen the timesheet on your Mac device.

      10. Scroll to and open the Time in - Time out section.

      11. If you see a pop-up request asking to allow your location, hit allow.

      12. Your geolocation should now be working.

    • If your geolocation did not not appear as depicted above, the reason may be that the website is blocked for pop-ups. Follow the following steps below if so.

    • How to allow pop-ups on Safari

      1. Open Safari.

      2. In the Safari menu, select Preferences.

      3. In the Websites tab, click Pop-up Windows.

      4. Set the "When visiting other websites" option to "Allow" for www.jotform.com and/or www.hipaa.jotform.com.

       5. Try to open the timesheet and access geolocation again.

    • How to allow pop-ups on Mac in Chrome for all websites

      1. Open Chrome

      2. In the Chrome menu, select Preferences

      3. In the Privacy and security tab, click Site Settings

      4. In the Content section, click Pop-ups and redirects

      5. Set the Default behavior option to Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects

      6. Reopen the timesheet and access geolocation again.
