Designed to give you the skills to troubleshoot
Modern electronic and electrical systems
Day 1 Electrical and Circuit Testing Techniques: This class covers how circuits function, how to properly test circuits and which tools to use to test the circuits. Technician will be shown a straight forward, easy to understand approach on how to identify circuit problems and what is required to correct the fault.
Day 2 and 3 Lab Scope Operation and Use: One of the most powerful diagnostic tools available, technicians will learn how to set up and use the scope to test practically every circuit and system on the vehicle. Technician will learn how to set the time base, set the voltage scale, use multiple channels, set triggers and how to use a low amps current probe to test a variety of circuit problems.
Day 4 and 5 Sensor Testing and Troubleshooting: This portion of the session will focus on how to test most common sensors such as Load Sensors, Potentiometers, Thermistor’s, Feedback Sensors, PM Generators, Hall Sensors and smart switches such as MUX type switches. In addition the class will be tasked with solving problems on our engine simulator using the skills acquired from the previous sessions. This will give technician’s the fundamental diagnostic skills required to proceed to more advanced levels of training
These classes are for technicians wishing to improve their diagnostic skills. All classes will be a combination of Hands on and Theory. We will be working on live cars and participants are encouraged to bring any problem vehicles they may be working on. Technicians should bring their own equipment.
