Please fill out this form. You will receive an emailed copy which you can print and bring to the shelter with you when you come visit us. If you encounter any issues with filling out or submitting the application please be sure all answers that are starred are filled out -- even if it's to put "not applicable"-- or email us at caawsmail@yahoo.com.
Due to Covid-19 the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) will only accept online applications for adoption. The shelter will remain closed to the public and adoptions will be conducted by appointment only, Applications accepted after noon on Fridays will not be considered for appointments until the following week.

In order to adopt you must: 1) Be at least 21 years old 2) Have current ID showing your birth date and present address 3) Show proof that you are a legal US citizen 4) Be willing and able to provide proper shelter, medical care, and lifelong love for the entire life of your pet 5) Pay a $75 Non-refundable adoption fee per animal (cash or check only)

CAAWS reserves the right to deny any application for adoption for the best interest of the animal.
