Benevolence Application

It is the heart and passion of New River Fellowship to assist those within our church and local community who face financial hardship. The church's tithes and offerings provide the financial basis for this ministry; therefore, it is viewed as God's ministry. 

The Benevolence Ministry exists to provide short-term financial assistance by helping those with legitimate needs in a fair manner, respecting the dignity of individuals and families coming to us for assistance, regardless of their background or circumstances. We do not provide long-term and/or recurring support to individuals.  

We also may direct people to other agencies that offer additional help. 

Applicant,

You and your family are very important to us. We commit to praying for you and your circumstances, and to carefully consider your application. 

Due to the growing demand for help, we have limits on the assistance we provide. We do not:

• Assist individuals living more than 30 miles outside our area (except for active, serving church members)
• Accept third-party applications
• Provide immediate assistance
• Give out cash
• Pay for hotel/motel rooms

Any applicant demonstrating manipulative, deceitful, dishonest, demanding and/or abusive behavior will not be eligible for financial assistance.

To be considered, please complete a benevolence application online or in person and submit it with the documentation required. All applications must be submitted by the person or couple requesting assistance. We are unable to process incomplete applications. Three attempts will be made to contact you for documentation before the file is closed.

Please understand that our process takes time, usually at least one week. In the meantime, try to keep in mind that God is your ultimate provider: “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19).

To be considered for assistance, you must provide the following:

1. Application. Must be complete and signed.

2. Photo ID. Copy for both applicant and co-applicant.

3. Other Income. Documentation of all other income sources in the household (child support, unemployment benefits, disability, food stamps, TANF, etc).

4. Bill or Lease. Copy of the bill for which you are requesting assistance. Remember that we only cover basic living expenses.

* Bills submitted in another party's name will not be accepted. *

In order to process your application, we will need a copy of the bill to be paid & a photo of your Driver's License or legally valid photo ID.

New River may provide a limited amount of financial assistance, on a case-by-case basis, to tithing members, attenders, and non-members. 

The Benevolence Ministry exists to provide short-term financial assistance, but New River may not be the best source of assistance for you at this time. We also direct people to other resources in our community to help those in financial need. 

Completing this application does not guarantee New River will be able to provide financial support. 

Our process takes time but does help with the bigger financial picture.

I authorize the release, reproduction, and verification of this information and understand it may be provided to other service agencies.  I give permission to New River Fellowship and its representatives to obtain information on my behalf from legitimate organizations for the purpose of processing my request and exchange information as needed with the appropriate sources. I give permission for New River to make payment on my behalf to the appropriate agencies and to speak to those agencies. I understand that New River Fellowship will otherwise keep my information confidential. Any information provided in the benevolence application is to be used for strictly financial assistance. I certify that all information provided is complete and true. I understand if the information is found to not be complete and true, my request for financial assistance is void.
