Air Conditioner Filter Cleaning – Split System
To keep your air conditioner running efficiently and ensure proper cooling, it's important to clean the filters regularly. We recommend cleaning the filters every 2–3 months, or more often during heavy use (especially in summer).
How to Clean Split System Air Conditioner Filters:
Open the front cover of the indoor unit. It usually lifts up easily.
You will see one or two mesh filters inside. Gently remove them.
Vacuum the filters to remove dust, or rinse them with lukewarm water.
Do not use detergent or harsh cleaners.
Let the filters dry completely before placing them back in the unit.
Close the cover and turn the unit back on.
Regular cleaning not only improves performance but also helps reduce power consumption and prevents unnecessary service calls.
To ensure your ducted air conditioning system runs efficiently and maintains good air quality, it’s important to clean the return air filter every 1 to 2 months, particularly during the warmer months when the system is used more frequently.
How to Clean a Ducted System Filter:
Turn off the system at the wall controller or power source for safety.
Locate the return air grille, usually found in the ceiling or wall (often in a hallway or central area).
Open the grille – there may be clips or latches holding it in place.
Carefully remove the filter screen (it may slide or drop down).
Vacuum the dust from the filter, or if it's very dirty, rinse it gently with lukewarm water.
Allow the filter to dry completely before reinstalling.
Reinsert the filter, close the grille securely, and turn the system back on.
Keeping the filter clean helps the system cool effectively and reduces strain on the unit.
