It is the policy of the Piedmont Board of Education that a parent who is awarded legal custody of a child by court action shall file a copy o the court decree awarding such custody with the school. If the custodial parent does not wish to be released to the noncustodial parent, an appropriate written instruction should also be filed with the school. Absent a court decree to the contrary, both natural parents have the right to view the student's school records; to receive school progress reports; to visit the child briefly at school; to participate in parent and teacher conferences (not necessarily together in the same conference).
