We Make Movies LA Performance Lab Submissions

Hello Performers!

Use this form to submit your rehearsed, off-book performance to one of our upcoming L.A. based Performance Labs! We host both digital and in-person community events and submissions are received and selected on a rolling basis. Please check the calendar (http://www.wemakemovies.org/calendar) for the next date. Our in-person performance nights are held during our Lab Mixtape! So, please check the box below to let us know if you want your piece to be considered only for virtual labs or for both in-person and virtual. Space at our Lab Mixtape events is extremely limited and each night is carefully curated. Invitation to perform at an in-person event is not guaranteeed.

Space is EXTREMELY limited at our in-person Lab Mixtapes and the night is highly curated. For these events, we prioritize pieces that are either going into production, simulate the filmmaking process and/or are in some way directly related to making a movie. Selection for in-person peformance is at the discretion of the We Make Movies team.

When we receive your submission to participate in the Los Angeles Performance Lab, we are under the impression you are ready to perform and/or are actively rehearsing your performance piece. Please do not wait for a confirmation date to start working on your material, as we would like each performer to respect the space by being off book. We will do our best to give you ample notice before the Performance Lab you are selected to be a part of, but this may not always be possible as things change. Please check the box below to confirm you understand and will be ready to participate when you are contacted. If for any reason you do not feel ready to perform when we reach out to you, let us know and we will do our best to fit you into a later Performance Lab. *

Please note: Your submission to We Make Movies does not guarantee a performance slot. While we always aim to be as inclusive as possible, selection of work is at the discretion of the We Make Movies team. Please refer to our Filmmaker Bill of Rights for more information on our artistic guidelines. If you would like to record your performance, you must email performancelab@wemakemovies.org in advance. Performers who do not submit their request in writing prior to the start of the event will not receive a recording.
