  • We are inviting all African women in the jewellery value chain - mine owners, traders, gem cutters, jewellers, jewellery shop owners, equipment suppliers, financiers, women in mining associations to help create a female led from mine to market African regional jewellery value chain.

    Why?
African women produce gemstones and metals that contribute to the $400 billion dollar jewellery market yet don’t receive their fair share.

    What is AWIMA Jewellery?
AWIMA Jewellery is a product and a platform. A platform to connect women in the jewellery value chain for business opportunities and upskilling. AWIMA jewellery is a product - a collection of jewellery sourced from and made by African women.

    Who is AWIMA?
Association of Women in Mining in Africa (AWIMA) is a network of African national women in mining, oil and gas associations. Our mission is to promote leadership, inclusion, and sustainable empowerment of women in mining. awimaafrica.org

    Why participate in AWIMA Jewellery?
This network can help you generate new business leads, increase your visibility, identify good business practices and make new connections especially considering how COVID-19 has impacted the industry.

Win a trip to an international forum on responsible sourcing

Thanks to the generous support of the OECD, one survey respondent will be awarded sponsorship to participate in an international forum on responsible mineral supply chains. To win, complete the survey and provide a comprehensive response to the question in the survey on "how can the responsible sourcing of minerals be improved?" The award will cover travel and accommodation with the winner, AWIMA and OECD jointly agreeing on the choice of international forum.

    How can you help?
By answering and sharing this survey, helps us map out who the women in the jewellery supply chain are. Understanding the challenges and bottlenecks will help us design interventions to support women led businesses, enhance health and safety of women and stimulate new market opportunities post COVID-19.

You are welcome to skip any questions that you dont feel comfortable answering. All your information will be saved in a secure database and will only be shared with your permission.

We invite African women and women in the diaspora to complete this survey as well as men and organisations that are interested in supporting African women in jewellery supply chains.
