We have been getting quite a few emails asking about donating to NADAC with the COVID19 outbreak causing a massive amount of trials to be cancelled.
We take this very seriously and we want to make sure that anyone who donates, will receive that money back in some form or another.
We're doing this in 2 Stages
So what we're going to do is consider these donations a temporary gift to us, that we will repay when things stabilize in the agility world.
You'll be able to get your donation back either in the form of the original amount, or it can go towards NADAC hosted trial entries, Championship entries, or anything else that you would normally pay NADAC for directly.
This won't be able to happen until trials are being held, and things settle a bit.
So that is going to be our first line of attack, and is what this page is for.
Just to Re-iterate:
1) You are donating to NADAC to keep things going during the outbreak
2) Once things settle in you will be getting your donation back, there is no timeline for this.
Now if things get truly bad...
If the worst case scenario happens and NADAC needs more funding, we're going to roll out another funding page, but this one will have some major effects on the business.
If we get to this state we will be changing how things are handled in NADAC in regards to rule changes, and this ties in with your donation.
For every $50 you donate, you will be buying a vote. You can purchase as many as you want, so $150 would be three votes.
What this will mean is that any proposed rule changes will go through a voting phase.
Phase One : The proposed change is submitted to the office staff, this change can be suggested from either the NADAC office staff, a person who has purchased a vote, or anyone in the general public.
Phase two: The proposed change would then be voted on first by the general public, so anyone who competes in NADAC. If it passes this level of voting it moves on to phase three.
Phase Three: The proposed change is voted on by everyone who purchased votes, and they have the final decision. Majority rules in this case.
NADAC would reserve the right to buy back votes once the COVID-19 outbreak settles, but there would not be a set timeline for this. It would need to be spread out. The best way we have come up with doing this is that each vote gets written on a business card, the cards are all kept in a large bucket, and when we have funds to start buying back votes they are randomly selected and withdrawn via live video on a monthly basis.
If your vote gets purchased back by NADAC you would also be receiving your money back with 10% interest. So if you donated $150, you would be getting $165 back.
For every year that you don’t get your vote purchased back, your interest back would increase by 2%. So if you didn’t get anything purchased back until 2021, you would be receiving 12% interest back.
There is NO guarantee that your vote will be purchased back, this is first and foremost a donation. But it’s a donation with a promise given by myself that you will be repaid when the venue can afford it.
Hopefully we don't get to the point of needing open up Stage 2.
If we do get to that point, than any money you donate here, on Stage 1 will go towards that as well, meaning if you donate $150 now, and we do end up having to open up Stage 2, you'll be getting three votes automatically.
