Due to our shelter’s extremely limited kennel space, we are unable to secure placement for your animal after surrender. Space is rarely available, meaning the likely outcome for your animal will be humane euthanasia. At the time of intake, your animal will be evaluated for space availability. If no space is available, your animal will be immediately humanely euthanized.

We strongly encourage exploring alternatives such as rehoming or contacting rescue organizations before proceeding with your appointment.

Network your pet in our system   

• We can proceed with admitting your animal(s) into our database for networking purposes only in hopes to gain placement prior to scheduling the appointment. During this time, we will forward any inquiries to you to arrange an interaction with potential adopters 
• Prior to scheduling a drop off date for your animal, we will need to get the pet’s microchip information into our system.  If you do not have that number or if you are unsure if your animal is microchipped, we can check and microchip them (as needed).  
• Our owner surrender appointments are booked several months in advance so we suggest  you that attempt to rehome on your own through websites such as https://rehome.adoptapet.com , https://nextdoor.com, etc.  Adopt-A-Pet has resources to assist with responsibly rehoming your pet.
