We are so glad that you are interested in fostering for Nine Lives! Our rescued pets deserve a fabulous foster. It is important that you, as the future carer, understand the commitment you are about to make. Our duty is to be sure to find the 'purr-fect' foster home, where each pet will be cherished and loved until it is adopted.

School breaks and summers are when the need for foster care is greatest.

Foster carers must:
- Be at least 21 years old with curent UAE ID
- Have the consent of all adults living in your household
- Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord or building owner/manager
- Understand that Nine Lives must approve your application before a pet is placed in your care.
This questionnaire will help us get to know you so that we can match each rescue to the right foster home. (It's set up to save you a little time: it shows you only questions that match your situation as you answer from top to bottom. If you can't answer a question in the space given, just use the comment box in section 8.) You may save your responses and return to the form later.

I understand that the foster pet(s) may not be house-trained and pets can be messy. I understand he/she may have accidents in my home.4. Like many pets, the foster pet(s) may scratch or chew on furniture, clothing, or other objects. I am comfortable working with this behavior.5. Should the foster pet(s) become ill while in my care, I agree to call the Foster Coordinator to seek treatment. Nine Lives will pay costs of treatment.6. I will not take the foster pet(s) to a veterinarian or administer medications unless directed to do so by the Foster Coordinator. Nine Lives will not reimburse foster volunteers for any unapproved veterinary expenses.7. I understand that I am not allowed to take my foster pet(s) to another person's home or place of business unless pre-approved in writing/email/WhatsApp/SMS by the Foster Coordinator.8. I will contact the Foster Coordinator immediately if for any reason I am no longer able to keep the pet(s) in my home. I will not leave my foster pet under someone else's care in another home.9. When discussing the foster pet(s) with a Nine Lives representative, I agree to be entirely honest and forthright in regards to the condition and temperament of the foster pet(s), be it positive or negative.10. I fully understand that the foster pet(s) is/are the property of Nine Lives. Any decision made by the Foster Coordinator will be followed by me, regarding the return and/or disposition of the foster pet(s).11. I agree to return the foster pet(s) as instructed by Nine Lives, when instructed. If for any reason whatsoever I fail to return the foster pet(s) when requested, I will pay the full Adoption Fee(s) whether or not the pets are in my custody.12. I understand that Nine Lives is not responsible for any property damage and/or injuries that may occur. Any damages and/or injuries will be my responsibility.13. I understand that there is some risk to my own pets' health, especially if my foster pet(s) are not kept separate or my pets are not currently vaccinated. Nine Lives is held harmless and is not responsible for my own pet’s medical treatment.14. While fostering a cat for Nine Lives, I shall not undertake other cats for day care or fostering from any other rescue organization or individual. Under no circumstance will the Nine Lives foster cat be mixed with another cat without the consent of Nine Lives.15. I understand that I have the possibility to adopt the foster pet with the approval of the Adoptions Counselor. I will notify the Nine Lives Adoptions Counselor should I decide I would like to adopt the foster pet. HOWEVER, I understand that the foster pet will remain the property of Nine Lives unless an adoption contract has been filled out by me, and until I have paid the adoption fee. I understand that all costs incurred by me during the foster period are accepted by me willingly and do not replace the adoption fee. The pet is not adopted by me until the Animal Adoption Agreement has been signed and stamped by the Manager of Nine Lives. I understand that in cases where fosters have not returned the pet without paying the Adoption Fee, whether because of loss or wanting to evade the fee, it has become a police matter.16. I consent to a home visit from the Rescuer or the Foster Coordinator before I am approved to become a Nine Lives foster home. Additionally, I consent to any follow-up home visits the Rescuer or the Foster Coordinator requires.
