PARSE SECO
The PARSE SECO program is intended for individual underrepresented artists, students or artists who have not previously curated a show to critically engage issues of underrepresentation of specific race / demographics in art, controversial subject matter and accessibility of art to all groups. The aim of this residency at PARSE SECO being to advance the artistic ambitions and opportunities / exposure to the residents, but also to act as a mentor for those who may not view artistic expression or artistic professions as obtainable due to their race, sexual orientation subject matter, or income class.
During this program, resident artists have access to rehearsal and storefront exhibition space in Taos, New Mexico. Artists are required to donate at least 10 hours of instruction, or 2 workshops per month, to community and/or at risk youth in the field of their work to promote expression in healthy forms. Artists are provided a streamside airstream with access to a communal living space, kitchen and bathroom alongside other working creatives.
Artists will be introduced to other local artists for collaborative opportunities through the Taos Arts Council and Parse Art Network.
Access to resources and supplies will be discussed in depth in initial meetings.
PARSE BUFFALO residency program is open to all creatives. Surrounded by the constant hum of Niagara Falls, this residency offers artists a reprieve from the urban experience. Participants can expect to cultivate strong connections to New Orleans as this residency will foster a deeper connection between these two great art cities
Buffalo is created to house and shelter creators and introduce their work through community oriented events.
