The Emergency Assistance Fund has been designed to support ACA Members who are Past Players experiencing unexpected and temporary financial stress as a result of COVID-19. It is also available to Current Players who are W/BBL (Only) Contracted Players or Female Domestic (WNCL) Contracted Players.
The purpose is to provide some short-term financial relief.
If you are a Past Player, support may be provided to you in the form of a grant and/or loan or payment for goods and/or services. The Assessment Panel will in its absolute discretion assess and determine the merit of each individual application on a case-by-case basis, with the assistance of the criteria in the table below.
If you are a Current Player who is a W/BBL (Only) Contracted Players or Female Domestic (WNCL) Contracted Player you will be required to complete a Game Development Appearance(s) in return for a Game Development Grant paid from the Emergency Assistance Fund. To fulfill the appearance requirements the ACA Communications team will gather content which may include stories on your playing career, work and education away from the game.
If you are finding the isolation and reduced social connection difficult and would like the ACA to make regular contact with you feel free to contact Megan Pauwels on 03 9698 7207.
This fund operates in addition to other ACA services and programs. For instance, if you are a Member (regardless of your status as a Past Player or Current Player) and experiencing genuine financial hardship that has been exacerbated by COVID-19, you may want to consider applying to the Player Hardship Fund.
