    FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Upon registration for classes at York Technical College, I understand that as a student I am entering into an agreement with the College that, in return for instruction received, certain costs are incurred with my registration. These costs may include tuition, fees, textbooks, supplies, and other miscellaneous fees related to my enrollment at the College. After the application of all eligible federal and state financial aid awards, private scholarships and third-party sponsors, I understand that my account may reflect a balance due to the College for which I am responsible. I further understand that I am expected to keep my account current, realizing that students with past-due accounts will not be allowed to obtain grades, transcripts, diplomas, degrees or certificates or to enroll in subsequent terms. I acknowledge that the College reserves the right to cancel the enrollment of any student with a past-due account. However, the cancellation of enrollment does not relieve the student of the incurred debt. In the event my account becomes delinquent, I understand that the College reserves the right to assign the account to an external collection agency. This action will result in endangering my credit rating on a local and/or national level since the delinquency will be reported to all three credit bureaus (Equifax, TransUnion, Experian). I agree to reimburse the College for the fees of any external collection agency, which may be based on a maximum percentage of 33% of the debt, as well as all costs and collection expenses the College may incur, including reasonable attorney's fees.. I also acknowledge that the College will exercise its right under the provisions of Sections 12-54-410 through 12-54-500 and 12-53-20 of the SC Code of Laws to request a SC State tax refund seizure to offset the outstanding debt. I authorize the College and its respective agents and contractors to contact me regarding my account at the current or any future number that I provide for my cellular phone or other wireless device using automated telephone dialing equipment or artificial or pre-recorded voice or text messages.

By signing my name below, I acknowledge that I have read this statement.
