The Brief:
The Good Art Project is a series of small collectable "art cards" profiling New Zealand Artists. The collection will showcase art that celebrates the good bits - life’s vibrant, warm-hearted or humble moments. We are looking for engaging, uplifting images that evoke the idea of a cup half full.
The brief is wide open to interpretation, literal or abstract in any style or medium, from painting and illustration to photography, street art, sculpture, poems or doodles. Submit up to three images - past or recent works.

beauty in everyday things, courage, creativity, colour, vibrance, energy, love, laughter, good sorts, cup half full, human connections, joy, compassion, salt of the earth, integrity, loyalty, good deeds, a job well done, the simple things in life, playfulness, mates, the great outdoors, connecting with nature.

If selected you get:
- Your work published in our Limited Edition Art Card Series - 5 collectable Art Cards are released quarterly attached to our coffee packs.
- A brief artist bio and link to website,social media on reverse of card
- Your profile and artwork on the Good Joe / Al Brown website
- Good Joe Coffee to help you get your arts into gear every morning
Note: The original artwork itself and copyright will remain yours - you may sell your art as you usual, or you may submit images of previously sold works. Artists may keep 100% of the proceeds of any sales generated through the Good Art Project. See our terms and conditions below.
Accepted Mediums:
Any images or artworks that can be captured as an image including photography, painting,drawings,printmaking,illustration, graphics, sculpture, street art, words, thoughts or poetry ( short ).
Submission Guidelines:
- Each individual may submit up to three artworks or images
- Finished Art Cards are small but perfectly formed (80 x 110mm). Chosen images will be reduced so keep this in mind for some designs, especially text.
- Artworks must be photographed suitable for reproduction, see tips
- Artwork must be scanned or photographed and supplied as a jpg, png or tiff file at a minimum of 300mm on the shortest side x a resolution of 300 Dpi ( approximately A3 )
- Text may be sent as a doc or pdf file, or designed as an image.
- Entries must be received online no later May 20th 2020
Terms & Conditions:
- You must have personally created the work.
- You must own the copyright to the work - it must not have been commissioned and paid for by a third party.
- If selected, you agree to grant Good Joe Coffee the right to reproduce the selected image as Art Cards and for promotional purposes for the Good Art Project, Good Joe Coffee, or Al Brown & Co.for the period of 12 months
- The orginal artwork and copyright remain yours.
- You are entitled to keep 100% of the profit from any sale of the original artwork that may result from participation in the Good Art Project.

Photography tips
Shoot your artwork in natural light without a flash (out of direct sunlight) / Use a tripod or mount your camera to a solid surface to avoid camera movement / Ensure the focus is on the artwork surface / Use the timer feature to prevent camera shake when pressing the shutter
How to resize your image ( without editing software)
Go to imresizer.com / Upload your file / Select on Resize to the right on the header / Select “Keep Aspect Ratio” / Ensure dpi is set to “300” / Select “mm” as unit of measure / Enter “300” in the shortest measurement ( height or width) / Click “Resize” button / Select “Jpg” as file type / Download to your harddrive
