  • What is Functional Training?

    The main word here is ‘Function’. Function is Purpose. Therefore, Functional Training is training with purpose. It is focused on movement patterns that have purpose. Most persons exercise because they want to (1) Lost Weight; (2) Maintain Weight; (3) Tone/Strength; (4) Relieve Stress. While those are all valid reasons to exercise, one can simply combine all four for overall improvement in the way they move throughout the world. There’s a name for this better-at-life form of exercise: Functional Training. Functional Training helps provide you with the strength, stability and mobility you need to strive through life's activities and sports. One uses basic functional movement patterns like pushing, pulling, hinging, squatting, rotating, carrying and gait patterns (running/walking) every day. Functional training utilizes exercises that improve your movement proficiency in these primary patterns to give you an edge that will help you achieve your goals safely and in good health.

    PERSONALIZED COACHING :

    Personalized coaching is so far one of our predominantly successful programs. With a life coaching approach and our coaches background in therapy as functional training specialists we help take individuals from "zero" to the best versions of themselves possible. This includes, but is not limited to, Sports Specific Training & Functional Rehabilitation (see more on these two below).

    ONLINE PERSONALIZED:

    At Urban Fitness we understand that sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day.  With this plan you will receive a personalized nutrition plan, supplement plan, as well as weight, BMI and fat percentage tracking along your fitness journey.  Also, you will receive a strategic and personalized home/gym workout plan targeted strictly towards your own goals.


    SPORTS SPECIFIC TRAINING:

    This type of training is targeted towards our athletes. Our Coaches for this programme are all sport-specific trained and have experience in their fields both as a professional athlete and a certified coach. This programme combines Functional and HIIT training along with actual training/practice in the specific sport of the athlete. As our Coaches are all well-known in the sporting industry, we are well-networked across the sporting arena which is beneficial to all our athletes.

    FUNCTIONAL REHABILITATION:

    Functional rehabilitation is a type of therapy that aims to help individuals recover from common lifestyle injuries and pain. It focuses on improving the body's ability to perform daily activities and movements by strengthening muscles, increasing range of motion and achieving pain free movement. It is a highly effective treatment for injuries caused by repetitive stress, as well as post-surgical rehabilitation. It involves targeted exercises, and other techniques like EMS and laser therapy, with a personalized treatment plan tailored to the individual's unique needs and abilities. Through functional rehabilitation, patients can improve their overall function and mobility while reducing their risk of future injury.

  • INFORMED CONSENT AND RELEASE

  • I have completed the URBAN FITNESS Registration Form as thoroughly and honestly as possible.  I understand that any physical exercise or use of equipment has the potential for possible injury.  I acknowledge that I have been informed of the need to consult my physician about the safety and appropriateness of my participation in any training exercise activities.  I also acknowledge that it has been recommended that I have a yearly or more frequent physical examination and consultation with my physician as to physical activity, exercise and use of exercise and training equipment so that I might have his/her recommendations concerning these activities and equipment use.  I acknowledge that I have either had a physical examination and have been given my physician's approval to participate, or that I have decided to participate in activity and use of equipment and machinery without the approval of my physician and do hereby assume all responsibility for my participation and activities, and utilization of equipment and machinery in my activities.
     
    I RELEASE URBAN FITNESS AND ITS EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND PHYSICIANS FROM ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY WHICH MAY ARISE OUT OF MY USE OF THIS FACILITY & PARTICIPATION IN THIS PROGRAM.

    FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS

    I understand that to maintain my URBAN FITNESS MEMBERSHIP, I am required to pay my monthly/daily membership fee in order to participate in any of the fitness classes or programs.  All dues must be paid PRIOR to commencement of the program and on an agreed upon or communicated day every month.  I understand that I am financially responsible for my membership, and that I may be billed by URBAN FITNESS in the case that I am financially negligent.

    I understand that membership fees are generally non-refundable after 24 hours of payment.  Membership credit will be granted at discretion of URBAN FITNESS to prevent keep back of results. 

    CLASS CANCELLATION/CHANGE

    I realize that URBAN FITNESS may cancel or change a class at any time due to unforseen circumstances.  I understand that I will not receive a refund if this occurs; but a time or class replacement will be arranged.  I understand that URBAN FITNESS classes and schedules are subject to change.

    CLASS PARTICIPATION

    I will conduct myself in an appropriate and considerate manner.  If it is determined that I am not doing so, an URBAN FITNESS COACH may ask me to leave.  In this case, I will abide by all terms of participation that are set forth.
