  • Teacher Appreciation Week is happening across the nation from May 2-6, 2022. Help us celebrate by nominating your SAC professors, past or present. All nominees will be recognized through our social media accounts and by email to all SAC employees. Let's give them the recognition they deserve!

  • Award Categories

    The Don
    This award is for the instructor who gives their all to students. This instructor demonstrates that teaching is not just their job, but their passion - they live, sleep, eat, and breathe it. This instructor is an inspiration to their students and colleagues.

    The JEDI
    This award is for the instructor who demonstrates respect and understanding by creating a classroom that is welcoming, inclusive, and equitable. This instructor displays sensitivity for cultural and human differences, provides equitable learning opportunities for all students, and advocates to ensure students are afforded the services they need. They are a true JEDI - a leader of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

    The Maestro/a/x
    This award is for the instructor who is not only knowledgeable, but also takes content that is seemingly impossible to understand and makes sense of it. This instructor allows students to connect classroom content to their lives and the outside world by integrating critical thinking, reflection, reasoning, and creativity into the curriculum. They understand that students learn in different ways and demonstrate this awareness of individual needs and abilities by tailoring their lessons, assignments, and teaching methods to engage their students.

    The Heart of Teaching
    This award is for the instructor who inspires their students through exceptional support and understanding. This instructor radiates kindness, compassion, and patience that allows students to learn and develop to their utmost potential. They build trusting relationships with students in order to create a safe, positive, and productive learning environment. This instructor is responsive and empathetic to students and above all, committed to students' success in and out of the classroom.
