To support a Music Scholarship application, please provide video recordings of performances in two contrasting pieces at a level approximating to a Grade 7 or above (or the equivalent in their discipline). The recording should take the format of a live performance and the candidate should introduce themselves and their pieces. Students may use an accompanist or backing track but this is not a requirement.
We advise to choose pieces which show their performance skills and musicality at their best, rather than pieces which stretch their technique to the limit. Students may perform on more than one instrument or voice, should they wish. Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to a further assessment.
Due to the size of the recorded files, please transfer the video to support a Music Scholarship via WeTransfer using the attached link: https://wetransfer.com. Through WeTransfer, please email the file to admissions@newhallschool.co.uk. In the message box, please include your child’s name and current school. Music Scholarship applications should also include the title of the piece of music and name of the composer.
