• Katy ISD Instrument Maintenance Fee Agreement and Repair Policy

  • Student and Parent Responsibilities:

  • A yearly maintenance fee of $80.00 per-student will be collected from each student who uses Katy ISD owned instrument(s) for band or orchestra. Once issued, the instrument(s) become the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian of the student. In the event of loss or damage (to include stolen instruments) caused through carelessness and/or negligence of the student, the parent/guardian is responsible for the repair or replacement of the instrument.

    If any damage is noted upon receipt of instrument, or if repairs are needed, contact your band or orchestra director immediately.

    Payments can be made in cash or check made out to Katy ISD.

  • Repairs:

  • Katy ISD will provide adjustment and repair to the instrument without any charge as long as the repairs are not a result of the negligence or willful destruction. Free service includes regularly scheduled maintenance of the instrument.

  • Return and Refund Policy:

  • Instruments are issued for the academic school year. Instruments must be returned before the last day of school, unless written permission to have the instrument over the summer is received from the respective director.
